I lost one of my closest friends in a road accident near Madurantakam, which falls in Tindivanam-Chennai segment. I was there to the police station to get the paper work completed, on daily basis for a week from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. Believe me or not, every morning for that complete week there is a fresh case of fatal accidents.
I was really shocked, how come the accidents happen in that excellent road separated by a median. The cops says drivers are topping up their speed once they reach that stretch & Tindivanam-Tamabaram segment is where the majority of accidents occur during nights. The highway department and patrol police are equipped to clear the vehicles involved in accident in no time & the trace of the accident itself will not be there.
Just look at the medians between Tindivanam-Tambaram, you can notice the scars in the medians indicating that some vehicle has hit it.
