Not just the Forester, but there are various GM products like the Saab 9-2 which will be affected.

Usually these models will continue to be in production until the end of their model cycle and then cease to exist. All this stuff should be in the severance agreement. Even if the model is dropped, parts and support will continue through the GM dealership.

Companies share cars even without having a financial stake in each other. Eg: TATA-Rover.....moreover GM and Toyota are long time pals and share the Matrix/Vibe in the US.
