Thanks Vikram. By the looks of it Castrol Magnatec, Pentronas Mach5 and a whole range of Semi-synthetic oils conforming to API-SM should also do equally well. These are typically SAE 10W40 or 20W50 and far cheaper.

I doubt whether we see <-30C (except may be in some parts of Ladakh). -15/-20 to >40C is more like it. Then 10/15W30/40 or better is all you need. I for one who is familiar with the summer in the North will prefer the top end at SAE40 (or even higher). Thus Magnatec fits the bill perfectly at a fraction of the cost of full Synthetics.

What is the scene for its main competitor - Corolla /Altis?
