These (T3400/5500) are not server products.

These are geared for workstation use.

For a server you are looking at:

1. Hardware that can take abuse (can run 24/7 for months)
2. Can handle power fluctuations and not pass it on to HDD
3. Has dedicated RAID card so that an HDD error does not result in loss of data

RAID 1 would work in speeding virtual machines if you are looking at deploying GSX or ESX server. For SMB I would recommend GSX since it is now free and you can buy support as and when you need it.

You can look at Dell PowerEdge T410.

Or if you spend 15k on Server Cabinet + SMPS and 10k for RAID controller, then it is possible to get it assembled. Total cost of assembled machine would be around 50k.
