Gold plated emblems tend to fade faster than the nickel plated ones... I had a friend who bought the gold plated ones for his OHC (Geniune Honda accessory.. not some after-market one...) and it had faded within two years. If that happens in a place like Coimbatore (about 250-300 KMs away from the nearest coast), you can imagine how it would be in Goa.
