I have a Compaq M2000...
very similar to the V2000 you mentioned.
but a bit bulky
slow... 256 mb RAM is not enough
slow... Hardrive
looks ok.. but not something very good.

I don't believe in these widescreens .. i mean they are not actually wide! they just chopp off the top .. and thats why the 14" (Mine is not wide)

Lookwise I like Toshibas... or maybe Acers.
Toshiba even has 3 yr warranty..... comes in handy at times. (I got an official toshiba).
