Default Anti - theft devices : innovative / unusual ideas.

After hours of reading through the archives of various threads with anti-theft devices - lets all use our collective automotive brains and come up with some more - the whackier the better. ( the ulterior motive is that i might actually use some of them!)

I know members have written oodles on 'detterence' and other means of reducing chances of having your vehicle stolen, lets come up with some things not mentioned earlier Ofcourse, none of these would probably keep hardened criminals away, but maybe the amateurs out on their 1st theft might!

here are some - ( my apologies if I have repeated some ideas without due credits!)

1. the good ol' chor switch ( and removing relays ? remember the existing thread?)

2. rubber snake left on the driver seat or dashboard - the more realistic the snake and more poorly lit the parking space - more effective!

3. photo / print out of a pair of "eyes" staring out of the drivers window!! ( an article in last weekends paper mentioned that research has shown people tend to be well behaved and not to 'improper' things when confronted by "eyes" - even if they're just a photo!!

4. corollary to No.3 above, could be to leave an artifical eye on the dash!

5. potato / threaded cap stuck in/on tailpipe.

6. fixing a connection between reverse lights and car alarm with disarm switch hidden away ( and ofcourse, park your car in such a way that the thief HAS to reverse out)

7. For 4x4's - leave the drive selection in "neutral" OR leave it in 4L ( and if you have oversized wheels - man, he'll have a tough time if its an amateur!)

Am waiting to read more ideas!! bring them on gentlemen ( and ladies !)
