Maybe I came on too strong in my previous post. All I am suggesting is that an upsize should be based on some specific need, not just for looks. From Cooldude's original post, there will be a lot of highway driving involved. But what is the problem with the stock tyres --don't they provide good enough handling already? From the test drive reports in T-BHP, I didn't see any specific problem mentioned in this regard. This is a brand-new car from the Hyundai stable, apparently with tremendous performance capabilities. So it seems quite likely that for Indian highway conditions, the car will already be an over-performer by a long, long way. So why upsize, unless we assume that Hyundai has grossly miscalculated the tyre/wheel specs?

From other posts in this thread, it appears that the high-end model comes with 15" wheels -- so the upsize looked for is apparently already available in the high-end model. I am sure some design features of the high-end model will be different from the standard model, in order to justify the upsize -- maybe suspension, brakes, steering etc. When we make the upsize, we don't think of all these additional factors, we simply plonk in the higher-sized wheels/tyres. That is what makes me apprehensive.
