Alright Vtec-addicts, I am pretty certain that like me, you dont like the shape of the new Honda City either. Whats more, enthusiasts were driven away by the lack of sheer horses in the new Honda City. Indian journalists have moaned about the loss of an exhilerating driving experience vis a vis the old Honda City.

Butttttttttttttttttttt my sources at Ichibaan Honda tell me that the new Honda City with a Vtec engine is but a few weeks away. The thailand spec model churns out 103 bhp (107 PS), so expect its Indian sister to be slightly detuned to accomodate Indian fuel conditions. The older Honda City Vtec enjoys a power to weight ratio of 107 bhp/ton, but the new City Vtec will be able to match only a 89 bhp/ton. The older Vtec tips the scales at 985 kg, while the newer City Vtec (thailand) does so at 1065 kg. Also the older Vtec was detuned by apprx 8% (115bhp t0 106), thus I have calculated the new City Vtecs Indian variant at 95 bhp.

Conclusion - We are comparing 107.6bhp/ton versus 89bhp/ton. Do I hear the enthusiasts whine a little bit louder?

Ouch Honda, when are you getting us the Civic Vtec?
