130/100W bulbs and some Xenon filled 100/90W will blow if you use high and low beam together(by pulling the stalk towards you when on low beam).
The reason is heat.
Xenon in halogen bulbs means higher heat inside the bulb, which results in better light as hotter fillaments glow whiter and brighter.
a 100/90 or 60/55W silverstar should not be a problem.
In philips bluevision give great light, but if you are just looking for light output Vision + is a great option. Have a 60/55W Vision+ on getz and that gives great light, not really white but intensity is more than the stock phillips. |
Yes they were Silverstars & I think you're right they probably blew because of me sometimes using the Low & High beams together on the highway, you can do it in the OHC also.
Now I am using the Crystalvisions but am not really satisfied. Will try the Vision+ next time around since main criteria for me is throw & intensity whihch is necessary on the highways I drive on.
