The fuel dispenser measures the fuel by measuring the volume of the fuel, as the ambient temperature in the morning is lower than it is during the day, the density of the fuel will be higher in the morning (since it has cooled down through the night) than it is during the day, so you get more fuel when you fill up in the morning.
IMO this will cause a very marginal change in the amount of petrol getting dispensed.
