Diet is 60% the battle. Exercise is the remaining 40%. Excess carb intake post 4pm and alcohol/beer are you enemies.
Since you have elderly people going to be using it, a motorised treadmill is the best option.
We retail home as well as commercial equipment. You can visit our store @ gem plaza, infantry road. Either my dad or me are usually around. Alternatively there is a store at Jaynagar 4th Block. This will give you a better idea.

As navin sir and a few other members have mentioned, the Proline equipment is also a great line. They have durable machines. Infact I just returned from China today after attending a sporting goods show and Prolines parent manufacturers stall was impressive.

ps : Some of the guys will advertise their "peak" motor capacity just like ICE equipment. Ask them for them real figures (read continous power as thats what is important)
