Teflon is extremely slippery and is inert to almost every known chemical and it's a protective treatment for painted surface and it adds strength & gloss to the finish surface.
But personally, I would never ever recommend Teflon coating to anyone. The reasons (ARTICLE: The Car Care guide (Aesthetics)) are many. If you've oodles of time, I would advocate to use any Carnauba wax.
