EXAMM 2011 - A report.

Wow, a great foggy start! I see the first obstacle is the same as the last time. How did the Gypsies do here this time?

This is the first obstacle I guess, why does the above Thar have a yellow no. plate? Is it a temporary no. ? Abhi, more pics please.

I was there since today morning till afternoon for the 2 obstacles. But after having talks with guys out there, gypsies are still the KING. Thar's not upto the mark.

It all started yesterday morning when I was discussing an alternate route to Bandardhara from Mumbai with HVK Saar for the weekend.

He told me to come at Examm so there I was with no plans.

After work, went to Lonavala with friends for dinner (just an excuse to meet TBHPians) and had a chance to meet with Bolbolero and Hvk Saar. Met with few others, clicked few pics and left for Mumbai. Here are some from Parking lot:









Leaving back to Mumbai with such a hurry, only to return back Sunday Morning....

Correction Behram Bhai, last year's Thar was a different beast altogether, what the real Thar should have been and of course, the Pilot makes a difference, we knew than and we know now for sure.

No Samu, it was actually obstacle number 2. The first was a Rut, followed by a continuous rut drive over which a small stream ran ongoing to last year's Examm's Obstacle number 1.

Will be filing a report with very few pics soon but as this year was more involving and challenging and it was pouring all the time.

@ Anupam: Was great meeting you at last, enjoyed your company.

Thanks to the organizers for arranging a ride for me and Aditya as our jeeps were not ready. Special ones to Rahul for the ride and all others for the short rides we took.

Could also meet many veterans in the game. IMO the whole event was planned and executed very well, considering the number of obstacles God made and man made.....

Posting a few pictures of my own, was raining so hard, I could dare to take my camera out only when it was clear.

just to add to my previous post, the dinner event on the first day so classy, every table had its own unique conversation going on

True representation of T'Bhp. one forum, many threads on different topics

there were topics ranging from "Rhino Charge" off roading in Kenya, "555 Safari Rally", "Borneo-Expedition", Vietnam on a URAL 650, Camel Trophy and what not..

I was even more amazed to find a quite a few number of people who were fan of "shochu iichiko"

simply amazing!! need to wonder if the day event was better or the evening event..

Thanks for your comments anupam. Our aim is to ensure that once in a year all the offroaders should come under one roof and have gala time.
