It was awesome, a great track for serious Jeepers and off road buffs. 20 Vehicles turned up - 20 out. The route had its fair share of challenges on the way. Nice challenges. And of course we had our stucks and break downs with some of the 18 odd Jeeps we had in the convoy, the 2 Gypsy vehicles went through without trouble. It is always difficult to manage such a large convoy without alternate routes, and with recent rains in Gurgaon there was plenty of water to wade through enroute. Some buffs wanted to go in for another round once we came out after completing the route. A good day out nevertheless.

@desetfox : Do not see point of posting about something else here. Why not start a new thread for a new event? This thread was on discussion / experiences during MGE-Gurgaon. Would love a detailed report. OR MODS : Would you like to change the title of thread to "Off Roading at Gurgaon"

This was a track for serious Jeepers. No way - absolutely no way a track for Mahindra Great Escape unless Mahindra wanted a Jeep event. The track passes through narrow gorges, stream beds, rocky trails, gorges filled with water and plenty of acacia thorn, total off road distance is 11.6 KM. It is in and around Golf Course extension road Gurgaon. Challenges include some tough serrated and disturbed hard mud climbs with deep ruts,( about 4 to 5 ) a few good descents, wading through water in narrow gorges and a bit of loose gravel climb in a short section. A water hole of about an acre where we stopped for brunch poses some crossing challenges and the soft mud bogged down a few vehicles. An MM 550 had an engine shut down, oil pump disorder and was towed out. Some buff attempted the trail on a 2x4 CJ3B with a diesel and obviously had to pull out very early. A CJ3B was highly unprepared and the driver new, water entered its distributor frequently and all plug cables were loose, tied directly on spark plugs Indian style and this vehicle kept stalling, ultimately it was towed out on tarmac and back to its home by another Jeep. The driver was a complete novice and had no idea of his vehicles or gear shift. Overall plenty of stops and disturbance but a good day out.

Pictures please. Looks like some serious off roading was done. Is the water hole / lake same as Gunhill Lake a bit ahead of CRPF camp??
