from our group from Pune, seven jeeps are participating ( two Classic, two 550, two 540 & one 340). All for Trophy event.
One question: will there be three different trails for 2WD escape, 4WD escape and trophy event?
See you there and hope to meet you and recovery team after an year gap.

Hi guys, I have a Alto K10. can I come there as a spectator only. If yes then upto where I can come in my Alto. After that only four wheel drive jeeps will be permitted. Where and when to meet before proceeding to Lonavala.Still our Jeep lovers like BOLBOLERO, H.V.KUMAR, gogi bhraji's ji' name to come in the "COMING" list.

Came back from the MGE at Lonavala. I hate to admit that it was not too exciting for me. My starter motor was giving trouble since morning & I referred a wrong route map posted at the mahindra adventure site hence I reached late at the venue. (my bad, I should have noted the correct address of 19 Degree North mentioned on the Mahindra Adventure site.)

Due to late arrival, I could not enroll myself nor did I receive any merchandise.

My Jeep's Oil sump got damaged at a slippery incline after a few obstacles and that was the end of it. I was towed back to the start point by Mahindra Recovery guys.

I just have a suggestion / opinion to add. I was repeatedly assured that my jeep would be towed by Mahindra recovery team till Lonavala so that I could get it repaired there. I had to wait for approx 6 hours for any concrete information. At the end, I was handed over a mobile number of a towing contractor.

I would not have wasted 6 hours if I knew at the beginning that I will have to make my own arrangements. To be frank, I felt really let down.

After all this was done, the towing van which I had called for arrived at 8 PM and we were at Lonavala City at 9 PM. Since all the Garages were shut by then, I had to spend the night at hotel and got the jeep fixed the next day.

I hope such things / tow arrangements are taken care of. I as a participant do not expect such a service at a prestigious event like this.

Hi Sabarsheesh,
It was sad that your vehicle broke down, i didnt notice your vehicle in and around resort. You should have contacted us, we ( Poona offroaders) were almost last in leaving resort. We would have towed you till Lonavala.
I am feeling bad that we couldnt help fellow offroader. Please send me your contact number, will share mine too for future.

The Big Daddy of all Great Escapes. For the first time in the history of Great Escape 130+ teams entered to take off-roading head on. Separate routes were set for 2WD, 4WD and participants of the Off-Road Challenge(ORC).

The ORC participants were judged during two staged obstacles:
1. Water fording
2. A slush pit
Points were awarded for driving skill, angle of approach, added help with extreme modifications and tyres attracting negative marking.
Some came out with flying colours, while others found solace in a winch and at times two. But all of them, pushed themselves and their vehicle hard refusing to the give up even when they had to.

25 off-road fanatics battled the course to win a ticket to the semi-finals of the Off Road Challenge 2012, which will be held in December. The winner will getaway with a brand new Thar.

The winners of the Lonavla ORC were Shubhendra Singh and at 2nd place Nishant Chhabria

My humble apologies! I could not give enough attention to your jeep as i was deep down recovering vehicles. I had informed our helpline team but learnt they had left the place. Your request could only reach me towards the evening and the best we could do was to arrange a towing van. Will ensure better service backup next time.

Thanks Vinod, no hard feelings. My intention of putting this up was only to help Mahindra so that the services could be improved.

Only thing which I felt bad about is that I could not complete the trail. Now after seeing the pictures, I am .

Damn, I missed driving through such a beautiful trail.
