Force Motors will be the title sponsor of the RFC, now titled “The Force Gurkha RFC India 2014”.

It will promote the Gurkha with the title sponsorship of this event.

But why? Force Motors makes it so difficult to buy a Gurkha from them. Why do they want to further increase the demand when they won't sell it to interested buyers.

This is GOOD news for the Indian offroad enthusiast. More manufacturers getting involved in the 4x4 scene can only be a good thing.

These pictures from facebook suggest that Force is making the Gurkha into a capable vehicle (May not be production vehicle & maybe just for RFC competition). Notice the solid axle up front & SPOA.

Yes, if they don't have a credible sales plan post RFC then all efforts put into RFC could go waste. Hope they don't disappoint this time.

On a personal note, am happy that apart from the regular jeep/gypsy/thar and M&M involvement, we have one more capable vehicle/manufacturer joining the scene.

There are 3 Force Gurkha being done up in Delhi to participate in RFC, it would be worth watching them perform in RFC.

It needs a rockcrawler to participate in such an event.

Successful rockcrawlers can be built on ;

Landrover Discovery
Nissan Twin Cab Diesel or Petrol Truck
Toyota Hi Lux Twin Cab
Dodge Ram Charger
Ford Bronco
Toyota Tundra
Toyota 70 Bushanab Truck

Cost in India would be about Rs. 10 Lakhs to upgrade such a vehicle.

My off road trainer Janbaz Ali Khan, Jum shifted to Malaysia in 1999 and was involved in this event earlier, will ask him whats up and whether he is coming to India. His father was from Hyderabad originally, mother British.

Any news on where this event is starting, trail, stages and finish point ?

Something like the Toyota Tundra I am driving below will be required. It had a Chevvy 8000 cc V12 engine.

But I didnt pay for it it was provided to me by the French company BF Goodrich part of Michelin now/

Is there an Indian vehicles category ? Like it used to be in Himalyan Car rally.

In the picture below on the Navigator seat is my friend and Indian Tennis player Leander Paes. He was scared to get in, he had a professional tennis match next day, where there is a huge amount of prize money involved, I said dont ride with me you might be injured but the offroading bug had bitten him to the full.

Hi,
I plan to take part as an "adventure tourer" and am quite looking forward to it.
Haven't had a chance to take out my Thar anywhere fun since I bought it in March this year.
See you guys out there.
Cheers!

This is great news...only Goa!

Quote:
The Government of Goa has come forward to lend support to the launch edition of India’s first ever international level off-road motorsport event. Goa Tourism has joined hands with the Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India 2014, which is set to take place from August 8-14, as the Tourism Partner.

Over the years, Goa has hosted numerous international events including the Goa Fest and India Bike Week. However, the major influx of tourists is from October to September with monsoon being the lean season. Goa Tourism now plans to change all that and encourage adventure lovers to visit the state during the monsoons and experience the other ‘wilder’ side of Goa. With a separate participation category being set for touring adventurers at the Force Gurkha RFC India 2014, it fits perfectly with Goa Tourism’s plans of promoting Goa as a destination for adventure tourism.

Force Gurkha RFC India 2014 will see participants driving through unchartered territory while battling blinding rains, vicious insects and tough terrains. Staying true to RFC beliefs and a strong commitment to preserve Goa’s flora and fauna, the course has been designed away from protected forest territory and wildlife sanctuaries, on a combination of private and government land. The event organisers have adopted an environment charter, the first of its kind for an event in India. To celebrate nature’s bounty, an ‘Environmental Award’ will be given to the individual or team that shows the utmost care and attention towards the preservation of the environment.

Even the Jeep Club Wayanad has the Wayanad Tourism to back us up. However, when it comes to conducting the event, finance, and sorting out the complications (legal) that arises, the battle is only ours (members).

I sincerely hope that things are different for a good cause.

Best of luck to all Team BHP participants.
Who all are going ?

Prabhu of Hyderabad Hard Top fame mentioned he is participating.

Heres a pic of the Force Gurkha team vehicles modified as rock crawlers.

Look like some real mean machines wonder how they will perform actually in the event.
