Then we could not wait anymore and decided to do a small OTR in that time. We went to the valley in 3 vehicles.

While we took the not so tough trail, Sunil wanted to take a not-possible routes. And got stuck in this ditch.

As you can see, the front wheel was happily sitting inside the small valley.

Since the bumper was stuck in front, no way of coming out with just horse power. So, some Human power to the Jeep.

There was some slush (again, we never thought it would turn up in to the worst slush spot - details & pics coming up soon) and he tried to cross. Since the end of slush is start of the mountain, he was trying to do it in momentum

Backs out to take it with higher speed.

Default Stuck in Muck!!

This is what happened at the end and which kept us busy for an hour. This is where we had more fun in this OTR. The Jeep is almost swallowed by the hungry slush!! Check out the sound coming out of silencer .

The RECOVERY story will be narrated by mjothi.

Thats when we see the other jeepers coming towards us with joy. We asked them to stop on the camp site itself and decided to reach there. When we reached there were so many jeeps & Gypsys out there.

Good count of jeeps, right?

You could see one jeep stuck here. Yes, it was and a gypsy pulled it out. Thats why the Tow rope was in action.

When guys heard that it was not possible and we gave up, our enthu guys started jumping. Not that they want to leave, but they want to try again.

First it was Sree who wanted to give it a try. When he reached the spot only then Vijay spotted that his front wheel was not getting any transmission in 4WD. We took it back to the camp and found that the transition hub got broken inside. I could see the disappointment in our Sree's face. What on earth am i going to do in this OTR? Am i going to be one spectator after coming all the way to the OTR spot with my love?

He was lucky. Vijay had a spare hub and we decided to replaced to his vehicle.

While this was going on, I see that our Gypsy Hero Khan bhai was on top of the Mountain. How the hell he did it? I noticed this only after everyone started to shout. I was regretting myself for not taking the picture. but that was not the end, just a begining.

Our hero got so happy and thought it was a piece of cake. Wait, he forgot about the return. When he started to decend, his Gypsy happily sat on the stone there, STUCK and said a big no to proceed.

His silencer got a hit and we could hear it roaring. So, there was a big group of people who was in the Gypsy and they all got down to push this guy.

But nothing helped. Everytime they tried it started to slip and was turing to an angle that was almost like ready to topple.

Seeing this, our Sunil thought of towing Khan's gypsy. But since he cant make it in same trail, he thought of taking a different trail to reach him. But little he thought this is going to be a nightmare for himself and the very same Khan's Gypsy is going to rescue his Jeep.

This is what Sunil tried before everyone reached the spot and finally we had to give up and return back.

True to tradition, I picked up a tent and sleeping mats at Adventure Zone on Museum Road only in the afternoon. Hadn't been on Bannerughatta Road in 12 years so decide to head straight there and check out the road. Since I was early, called up prabhuav and we decided to catch up at a family restaurant for some healthy salad. prabhuav was there when we started off from IIM.

Where is the rest of the report and where are the rest of the pictures?

The Gypsy group was trying to get Shan's Gypsy down. See the different actions to get that out of the rock. Also notice the difference in the angle in which it was before when got stuck and at the end of the rock N roll.

Remember I was mentioning about Sunil's effort to rescue Khan's Gypsy, yes, in search of a path, he turned to the right and in next 2 sec, we cant see his jeep. Yes, it went inside the slush by almost a feet.

I was staying near Sree's jeep in helping him to get it ready. So, we were in a high altitude and when Vijay asked where is the jeep I showed him the direction and said - 'Do you see a cap, the guy with the cap is standing on the jeep. yes, Jeeps got stuck there."

Then couple of try, left, right, front, back - but nothing helped. the Jeep refused to listen.

No, he is not dancing. Trying to come out of the slush. Watch the depth of slush.

Look at the Jeep, how deep it is inside the slush. Do you think this is royally stuck? Me too thought but the moment Sree's jeep got stuck, this became like this is nothing.

But it was of no luck. Seeing this Hrag decided to bring his safari to tow the jeep that "wanted to tow" Shan's Gypsy.

Also, notice the Khan's Gypsy at the long.

The safari was also in the slush and so it was sliping to one side for every try it made to pull the Jeep.

Meanwhile the Khan's Gypsy also comes for the rescue. Both are tied with Tow rope and started to pull the Sunil's jeep.

Once Khan was out from the hurdle, the next Gypsy guy wanted to try the same in his Gypsy. He tries and with little try he does it to the top.

Then again, he comes back without any issue. Except that it smuggled a lot of grass

On seeing this, do you think our Sunil is going to keep quiet. Yes, he again started to attack that location.

Infact a local guy around got really confused on whats happening and started getting mad saying, even after struggling for so long in the slush, why the hell this guy wanted to try again in there.

Then once back from the slush and after that minor relaxation, Sunil was turbo charged and wanted to try the initial slush (time for next hurdle!!!) to climb the mountain.

This time, since the rock was removed on the way to mountain, it was easy for him to climb.
Name: DSC06157.JPG
Views: 592
Size: 125.6 KB

But again, when he was half way, it stopped and while desending got hit on the SAME rock which our heros put aside from the main trail. Even after several tries and push, it was not able to be removed.
Name: DSC06158.JPG
Views: 598
Size: 162.3 KB

So, time to Tow the jeep. Since Sunil's jeep got stuck on the rock in the rear diff, the only solution was to pull him from front. But, none of the jeep made it to the top.

So, it was a difficult situation. Some of the friends tried to take to the top but could not. Now our friend, (sorry could not get his name, guy with blue cowboy cap) offered his 4x4 jeep.
Name: DSC06184.JPG

One of the jeeper tries to make it. He took it at so much speed on the mountain that everybody on the other side was jumping out

Name: DSC06163.JPG

Then the 4x4 was used to tow Sunil's Jeep.

Back to Sree now.
Name: DSC06162.JPG

Once the hub was replaced, Sree wanted to try this again in his Jeep. He tried so many times but could not reach the top. Everytime he tried, the slush was becoming softer and softer and deeper and deeper.

All combination of 4L, 4H 1st, to 3rd gear was tried. But it did not help a little.

He backed and got down. Had a look at the vehicle, looked at the spot. And said, NO I am not giving up. Now he took the wheel, Vijay in the passenger seat and me at the back. He planned to use speed and momentum to cross the hurdle.

We went in good speed, got several thud-thud on the muds, rock, slush and half way to the top. Then it refused to go any further. So, backed out. But this time, the slush started loving the jeep so much that it refused to give way to Jeep and got hold of it.

View from inside the jeep [
the jeep was inside till the bumper]

The slope was too much that the rear end was almost half inside the slush. And so the silencer was also inside the slush. If we stop reving then its going to halt and it was a really tuff situation. I was inside the jeep and no way to come out to.

Vijay got down from the jeep and went to get his jeep for the rescue.

The guys tried a lot to put the D-Shacle to the jeeps rear, but since it was almost inside the slush, they cant reach it. So, Sree asks me to keep reving the engine (to avoid slush entering the silencer) and goes down. He finally puts the tow rope and safari tries to pull it.

Safari comes for rescue

But it could not move even a inch of the Jeep. The slush out there troubled the Safari too, and it was sliping left & right.

So, it was moved and then came the next Jeep.
Name: DSC06174.JPG
Views: 511
Size: 57.2 KB

I got down from the jeep from the front to check the rear for any rocks or obstacles. The slush was almost till the knee. I could see that the rear foot rest was inclined downwards into the mud there by preventing the jeep from getting back too.

Look at the wheels

It jerked but did not move front.
