It's on my list to do. Right now even Qualis can go, but it gets interesting in monsoon. We Udupi Jeepers will be trying it in the monsoon now that we have recovery gear.

Dear sharath,
Great, well you have good tyres so it shouldnt be an issue, well get more jeepers from bangalore & it will be fun,

i am sure that place gets good amount of rain & as the picture shows the
trail will have excellent ruts in the rains to try out our skills,

I simply want to get my feet wet & dirty in that trail,

best regards

Shahnawaz, Can I ask you to advice participants on whether this is a recce or a full OTR? If it is a recce, lets keep vehicles to a quick minimum - based on relative experience of offroading - so we spend more time on exploration and less time on potential recovery.

Once the recce is done, we can ofcourse do a full on OTR where everyone can be invited. Right now, our own knowledge is kind of in the dark.

Maybe we should freeze "vehicle" participation, and encourage more people to join in to see how a recce is conducted. Just my thoughts.

Do we have anyone with a winch joining us?

Hey, I will be in Bangalore next weekend. Obviously I won't have my Jeep which does have a winch. If somebody can offer a seat in their Jeep/Gypsy I would like to join the recce.

When you say this week end do you mean 21st/22nd? The recce is only planned for 1st of March.

You can hop into any of our jeeps/gypsies.

Then I think since you gave shahnawaz and his wife seats at the MGE event in Munnar, its only fair that Shahnawaz give up his seat on his Gypsy to you for the entire recce. I am sure he is gracious and gentlemanly enough to do that :P

Dear Pals,
Is it a invite only for people owning a 4X4 (i only have a fusion and i am sure it would not be able to do this trail).
I would just love to meet up and take some pictures .
If your vehicles are full, i could join you guys on my bullet (if it can do this trail)
Would that be possible? Please let me know.
Cheers,
Deepak

Do join but do ensure that your jeep is in good condition & 4x4 is working fine.

Right now it looks like a full blown OTR man. what to do??? I think we need to think differently on how we handle 'recee' trips in future.

So, folks join in with your 4x4 and be ready for some adventure . We don't know what the terrain would be like and how the day will pan out. So be prepared for the unexpected and have loads of patience.

I think Vijay (from JT) will be joining and he has a winch. His winch was alos used in TG Halli OTR to winch out the 2WD CJ7

Most welcome, but I would suggest that you hookup with someone for a confirmed ride in a 4x4. I will soon post the list & drivers/passengers and you can reach out to them for reserving your seat.

He he he.. no issues. I have 'wall to wall' carpeting in the back side of my Gypsy. All are welcome there as long as they don't sue me over the harsh ride part.
