You know the best part? The entire offroading may have taken just 4-5 hours, but you get to relive it for next few days through photos and reports. Sharing it on the forum brings forth lot more joy in addition to actual offroading.

Ah! Now you see how much patience is needed to upload OTR reports with 100+ photos.

One tip though, since most people won't click on the image, it is better to resize in 800x600 format, loads faster too.

Guys, is there any OTR plan for this sunday..?
IN case, yes, im going to DEMAND my truck back by saturday from service.

All I can say is that Im feeling bad for myself at having missed out.
These are opportunities I live for and cherish them more than any other social activity.
Wonderful pictures of time well spent.

BE WARNED: This off-roading this is a 'ONE WAY STREET' -- once you get in, there is no turning back
You bet. I am becoming a die hard fan with each day as it passes. I was in Amritsar for a day and I called my mechanic twice yesterday and today to check whats the progress. Im back now so ill be going to him tomorrow to check

Look forward to some 4x4 action with all the Mumbai gang in the monsoons.
That would be great if you could come here, rest assured, we will be posting our escapades.

I am sure by then you all would have found several trails/places for some great off-roading.
In the rains, you really dont need to hit far away places, almost all roads are 4X4 terrain
Its not that bad actually, improving now but still has a long way to go.

Im glad you guys enjoyed the pics.

Hey I was talking to some Maruti dealers - they said the clutch is the same but the gearing on the Kings is higher than the older Gypsys.

Wicked captions, 4wdrifter! Did we make a convert of your non petrolhead friend as well?
Well, I hope so. My mission in life is to teach the uneducated masses the unadulterated pleasures that wheels - two, four, six, eight + can give you!

You bet! Am seriously considering this rubber when its time for a change. But the darn Michelins on my Jeep refuse to wear out! Over 30,000 kms up.
I have the same tyres - they've done 55K kms and are still good as new.

This was the spot where we took a turn back. The narrow gap was nasty, half the tree was inside the Jeep.
You can imagine my plight - the tree was in MY half when I was riding shotgun with GTO. AND it had THORNS!

Quick thinking on your part, and perfect placement of the rock. What 10 hands couldn't do, that simple rock placement took care of.
Jock with the rock!

Yup, she does but this was hardly the terrain for the Forester. I was using the low ratios most of the time but I guess with two wheels diagonally in the air and also nowhere else to go even if she did manage to go forward, there was no point taking her ahead. BTW, when we went to fetch her, she did manage to reverse out on her own pretty well.

That's just too bad then. But hey, I bet it's the simplest thing in the world to change the final drive to a lower spec.

Tell me about it! But I'm very happy with the quality of Michelin's LTX rubber. Me thinks the Classic's relatively light weight (for a UV) of 1200 odd kilos has a role to play in their longetivity as well.

Did you guys see me jump out of the Jeep toward the end? It's because my seat was full of those damn thorns! And everyway that I moved, I was getting stung!! Aditya was in splits seeing my plight.

Admittedly, a little easier than I originally expected. IIRC, she came out of that spot at the first attempt.

My getting back to civilization depended on that Jeep. I had to see to it that it didn't get stuck.
As it turns out, I was an idiot. I should have just asked you to drive down in your "go anywhere" Honda City Automatic and pick me up.

Hi Everyone,
Seems you people had a great time off roading. I must say the Land Rover looks amazing. The other vehicles near the LR look minuscule. Sad that the tyre went flat.

Regards,
