I have learnt the hard way, that when offroading, always hold the steering wheel with your thumb on the outside of the wheel - and never wedged inside which is what we normally do.

So when there is a steering whiplash like what you experienced, your thumb will be hit by the spokes. If your thumb was outside, no chance of that happening.

Nothing works like trial by fire.
You are right, pains real bad. The steering whiplash with that momentum hits you hard. Like you said learn from experience..

Great action shots, must have been great fun. I was very much in Bangalore, it was moving in day for me. So I couldn't even think of coming.

HiSunil,

Lovely shots of the 4x4s in action. Looks like you were waiting for those right moments.

Guys can we please repeat this in May again. Would love to play in the dirt here.

thanks guys for the F-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c pics!! What a turn on for a petrohead!! Keep em coming. A lot to learn for newbies to OTRs like me!!
Im wondering, in addition to the green Willy's was the other CJ, also Hurricane powered? I would love if the owners would give some feedback or a small report on how their vehicles performed. Perhaps even from you guys who were there?

We can do some other spot - just as much fun - with the novelty of doing a new track.

Rahul just keep checking the OTR post.
Though keep in mind that for most OTR's it would be better to hook up with someone and park your vehicle at their house.

And Ajay, gypsy-boy - for sure you didnt expect such a turnout for that very simple 5 liner *Lets Go OTR on Sunday* post, did ya?!

And everyone else - you have truly NOT attended an OTR until and unless Arka was a part of that!
Dwarak is one of the best organisers that I know.

- nope I did not expect such an overwhelming response!!

Well Arka - open invitation for ALL future OTR's

ah what a way to begin the morning. Thanks guys the pictures are awesome.

@V16: we did a trial run at the same place week before with CJ3B, and its as simple as it gets with a hurricane engine. I just slotted the jeep in 1L and was crawling with occasional dab on the throttle. Only on the last climb from the pit, use 2L for some momentum. Machine just takes over and driver just have to point it in the right direction

EDIT: Hurricane makes it too easy, that it kinda kills the fun for the driver lol

Looks like all you guys had great fun. That place is looking even more dry than what we saw a week ago.

Where is Dwaraka's Gypsy?

Excellent. Suresh, how did your safari perform? I don't see much pictures of yours. And stunts you had

@rudra - I think Dwarak Gypsy was not in the venue. he mentioned/confirmed only himself and his better half was not in the game... lol.
