Default A fine wednesday afternoon...

30th june:
Me was reading the MGE thread and came across a particular 'wolf' writing about the calender. So, wondered how come the wolf knew the details when the MGE website itself doesnt say much... So me sends a PM and gets a SMS back and leads to a call

Me : Hai, this is Santosh, whats you name
Wolf : I am Rithesh
.
.
yada yada abt MGE, drag race, hebbal, yada yada
.
.
.
Wolf : So, you take your Mother out on trails eh? I saw it on the hosur recee thread
Me : yeah, we just hang out every wkend, its a trail behind our homes
.
.
.
1 thing leads to another and by friday afternoon....

Ritesh : So pucca eh?

Me : Yeah, you me, and my parents and my Hosur Red CJ duo buddies.

Ritesh : I will bring along a buddy - also informed 1 gypsy (Karizma9292) Sujan & his buddy and 1 CJ (TBhp??) Nayan.

Me : What? I have no clue to organize a days outing for 5 jeeps...!!! OK - lets see what happens.

Default Lights, Roll camera, story starts...

Yawn..!! 6AM, and hurry burry - get a call from Karizma9292 Sugan that will meet me in BTM around 7 to pick me up. Meet up with rest of the gang at Bomanahalli Shell bunk and start our road trip down to Hosur - its about 35Kms from Silk Board flyover.

Roads looks so inviting to drive

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-road.jpg

We had 1 pic stop just before the state border at Attibele. Notice only 3 jeeps, the other 2 CJ's were at Hosur.

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-attibele.jpg

The bangy boyz had breakfast in Anand Bavan, meanwhile I got picked up by the Hosur boyz in their redCJ. I went to my home and got my jeep out of its 5day slumber and rushed back to the now 'just ate' boyz to the fuel station to de-flate all our tyres. Little did all know that 1st meal would be So-Missed and yearned for...again..!!

We hit the trail and took a quick pic.

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-1st-convoy.jpg

The 1st obstacle was a simple one...

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-nayan1.jpg

Or is it?

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-wolf1.jpg

It was a Chess-Knight-Move. Position yourself between 2 rocks, and take a STEEEP left, over lots of sharp boulders - one miss and your bodyline is going for a trip to the tinker...!!

Default 1st real challenge... and the 2nd one...

^^ - Guys Karizma9292 is SUGAN and not sujan. My bad.

And our beloved cameraman (wolf's gang) is Naved. He was battling a cold & fever and put himself in harms way for the vids'.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, after the table was laid out, we moved onto the starter. A no-nonsense rock climb. Its a very soft 25-30' climb, over 30 meters, but a very narrow path for little room for error on both sides.

SuGan - Look ma, 3 tyres. (I got spooked here...!!) Good control buddy, you stalled and recovered on such a slope - great driving.

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-gypsy-air.jpg

It was easy for me - been here more than 5 times

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-340-climb.jpg

Wolf's sideways... SEE his HEAD??

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-wolf-30-deg-angle.jpg

Ganee all happy.

Nayan Tensed?

I think, you will loose some part here.

When you cross the rock, you may loose your bumper

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-advice2.jpg

Can I fly over to the other side? No you cant buddy

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-advice3.jpg

May be i shd have flown over?

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-advice4.jpg

6 eye's outside, 2 from inside - no need for another pic - hehe. Dont worry, it was a small ssscccrraatchhh.

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-advice5.jpg

Me and mum, she has taken to jeeps more than me!!

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-340-descent.jpg

Lady' Wolf isnt going to like this I presume?

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-wolf-scratch.jpg

See, this is what happens to nature, when economy BOOMS!!

Babies Day Out - Hosur OTR Report - 3-Jul-10-hosur-background.jpg

----------------------------------------------------
Then we moved on to the next part of the trail. Deeper, and into the nature...

Wolf tries out the 7" NDMS

Default Perfect Saturday in Hosur Quary!!!

BRILLIANT OTR!!! Rocks, inclines, declines, soft dunes, steep and long rocky surfaces, slush and silt ponds........this one has it all!!! There is something for someone here no matter however experienced he/she is, now thats the best part of this terrain.

Big THANK YOU to Santosh, his parents, Arul and Ganee for being such humble hosts despite of all that they have tried and conquered there. Special thanks to Arul for making some obstacles look way more easier than they really are, lol!
Hats off to your down to earth attitude, felt very well appreciated for a little bit of systematic driving

I will be firing a barrage of photos and videos in a bit,

A rocky group photo for now;

This was my second OTR and the best one , Thanks to Santhosh , Arul and Ganesh for guiding us through the biting terrain , indeed Arul made few obstacles look easier that too with those balded out rear tyres and highway front tyres . We almost covered around 8 KMS of tremendous terrain . Broke my Gypsy's right rear portion of the bumper though . Hey rithesh put the video of Arul where he almost flew off his jeep.

Hey dude, this is Aruls wild jump in the rut No1 followed by Nayans clean run. Man in videos the cross looks so well composed while the reality is something else you know

Nayan taking rut No1, good job Nayan, the CJ3B with the 3 speed harvester and the NDMS 6.00-16. The combination seems to be working pretty well...

Me looking at if the water had entered the air filter box. Luckily 'NO' the stalling was purely due to the fuel running away from the submersed fuel pump.

Santosh, thats some articulation your CJ340 is capable of pulling of when one approaches it with a camera in hand, hehe
