nitrous, this is one of the reasons why I have bought a Gypsy. When I had been to Rameshwaram/Dhanushkodi, the landscape there had awed me so much. As one drives down the road to Dhanushkodi, the sea is visible on both sides, and both shores start converging towards one another. We had gone just to the main Dhanushkodi bus stand, since the area after that is accessible only by 4X4 vehicles. Right from that time, it is dream for me to drive down further along Dhanushkodi in a Gypsy. Hope to do it in the near future .

That was a mind blowing one, wonder what suv is that?

And the one on top, just coming down after this one starts the decent looks like an old L-Rover?

A second too late in releasing the clutch would have seen him rolling all the way down ..... and it would have been another spectacular rolling video !!! But must say , thats one HELLUVA sand dune and my guess is that it has to be somewhere in the middle east -- the Arabs are mad with their machines .

Terrific climb, amazing what these machines can do. The climb is almost 90 deg.

It looks steeper than it actually is because of the camera angle and the video aspect ratio is a bit skewed.

Sir, you are right , it is amazing to drive down there. Here is a picture of the place in my humble Mahindra . A gypsy would be better suited as it is lighter

We got stuck in Dhanushkodi,in a Mahindra 4*4 van(the ones they have there for ferrying people). It had just rained & the van was sliding all over the place & finally got stuck. The terrain looks friendly, but it is'nt, always.

Absolutely. By no means is it friendly. There are huge sand drifts that you need to cross especially around the Old danushkodi Railway station ( now destroyed )
