this has come on axn as well as discovery channel a couple of times.its all about these guys who put their off roaders as well as their skill to the Ultimate test.you have to be 100 % sure in everything you do....Or else !!

The slope in the second and third pics is very dangerous. I remember seeing one of those "When Things Go Wrong" programmes where a Ford Broncho fell of the side of that slope while coming down. The car landed on its rood but thankfully no body was seriously injured

Yeah, i remembered that as soon as i saw the pics.

The last pic is scary to walk too, nevermind driving.

U gotta be suicidal to try something like that.

Actually with TCS, it isn't really that diff to get up there. It's the coming down part that scares the crap out of everybody.

Oh yes.. seen this one, the place is called The Lion's Back. Evidently, one of the most dangerous steeps around.

Whats the incline angle? I have done a similar incline once, but both sides we had hill and not a drop. Infact a tractor could not do that incline, the front wheels kept lifing up and had to be got up by the longer route.
I was going in 4x4h, but then the clutch started slipping and I could smell burning oil. I shifted to 4x4 low and agonizingly climbed the slope.
In case you are wondering where and when did I manage such a feat, well it was around 3-4 years ago and in "The Best Off Roader" made in india(hint hint

)

Yeah, goin down really freaks u out. And what abt the breaks? Since u'll have to be using them all the time, isn't there a chance of the wheels gettin locked up in the mud??!! The last thing u want is to skid off the road!

The last thing u should do when going downhill like that is use the brakes!!!
Generally with 4WD L you would not have to use breaks.

Just a couple of creepy thoughts that stand the hair on end and the teeth ache. What if you had to do this with a Mahindra Scorpio, given its questionable suspension and brakes? They should qualify the new Lotus modified Feb. 2006 Scorpio at the Rubicon.
