Can you suggest a better engine other than a XD3P with a lot of torque best suited for OTR's to be fitted on a CJ3B.

Hi Joe,

Instead of the XD3P, you can go for the XD3P-2A.

On a more serious note, the XD3P is a straight fit with the KMT90 and not very heavy at 198Kgs, we prefer lowering the Diff-Ratio and putting taller tyres to get more torque at the wheels, and a better crawl speed.

The Taller Tyres compensate the Road Speed.

I would not suggest this on a 3b, i started off this project last year on a 3b with Di turbo engine and NGT520 GB. ran into a lot of issues. Keeping that in mind i picked up a cj500 chasis to accomodate ngt520 and later had to settle for kmt90 due to financial reasons, first of all finding a ngt520 in second hand market is like finding a needle in a hay, secondly even if you find one they will ask you for a hand and leg, unless you have planned to pick up a brand new GB from an authorised dealer. Will post pics soon along with AC setup

I have more or less decided to go for a XD3P engine with a KMT90 GB. Just for information sake, How much does a new NGT GB cost ?.

Can you post some pictures of you Jeep with the MDI3200 DI TC engine and GB.
