I've seen this thread now.

I was not even dreaming of having NOS in may car, but your jeep made me to think.
It seems to be you had spent lot money and time on the stuff. Great.

Dear RedMM340- can you post some pictures showing the clearances between the leaf spring and the oil sump, also clearance between the front propeller shaft and the engine block gusset towards the RHS.

@ redmm340 hi, i have a 2008 bolero lx 4x4 with the xd3 engine and ba10 gear box. it's a used car that has 1.11 lac plus kms. on it. the engine is pretty much dead and sorely lacks power right from the day i bought it. as in the car lacks pick up and power and wont go up steep slopes unless its really revved up. my mechanics have checked and have seen that the engine has mild to medium blow-by (india - back pressure) , ie most probably worn piston rings and cylinder liners etc.. the estimated cost of an overhaul i've been told will be in the region of 30-50 k. i would like to use this bolero as my daily drive car and therefore am im not too keen on running an overhauled engine since ive had less than satisfactory performance results from rebuilt engines in the past.
i have heard from various jeep enthusiasts and owners that the scorpio sz2600 chain drive engine is a match for the ba10 gear box and fitting a used one would not require too many mods to the bolero. im looking out for the right information and tips on how to go about this engine swap if possible. looking forward to your advice and help thanks - nikhil

This multi quote feature is nice. Glad I figured it out after 160+ posts!

Thanks Abhijat. You know, most Jeep ethusiasts in the U.S. don't really consider the Patriot a real Jeep. The problem is that it has too much Chrysler mini van DNA. If you visit the U.S., try renting a Wrangler. A good number of car rental companies rent it.

I put some close ups of the front and rear anti sway bars on an earlier post. Please look for them and let me know if you want more detail.

Thanks, I will be putting put a post on my U.S. spec. Wrangler soon. Look for it in the International section of T-BHP.

NOS is for hill climbs, mud slogging, and other horsepower intensive tasks. Just remember, you can never have enough horsepower.

I have no idea how many man hours have gone into this project. But it has been a lot!

Just came across this amazing thread , I was checking out the pictures , one noob question from my side . Why do I see 4 gear levers. I have seen a maximum of 2 gear levers on all 4wd jeeps.

Redmm340 replied to the same question earlier.

"Regarding the gear levers, you are asking a good question and I am glad you spotted that detail. The 4x4 on this transfer box has 2 levers. One is the 4x4 on and off. The other is 2H, 4H, 4L. The extra lever is actually a Warn overdrive gearbox that gives a 1:1 ratio on the low setting and a 25% high ration on the high setting. This will give more relaxed engine rpm at highway speed and a higher top speed. I guess I forgot to put this on the list of modifications."

Thanks
