Ram wanted me to update you guys. Seems they reached Trichy by 12.45am and left to Cheenai by 8am.

From his sms: "roll and seat belts will be installed along with top in Chennai. AND THE DRIVE HAS BEEN WILD WITH RAIN AND SUN AND WIND. The temp cover saved us well and made enough people look at us and laugh."

Miss the pix of that scene.

madbull, there is a mallu tinker in chennai who is used by some of the Jeepthrills guys. He has done a bunch of scissor tops for the short chase jeeps. Worth getting a quote from him. I hear he is good, but he works in his own pace. Means, you have to be patient and cannot rush him if you want him to work on the jeep.

I have a suspicion that it could be the radiator and over heating. But then that would have shown in the temp gauge?

But this is seriously bad news. I thought it was a joke when I first read it.

Guys: Thought will do a quick update. This was one unforgettable journey. The Engine seized after 50 kms from Trichy. Somehow the entire 6 lts of oil had leaked from the engine and its seized period. Tried everything but wouldn't budge. So we hired a Swaraj mazda and loaded the Jeep on it and reached chennai by 2 am.

After, 1.5 hrs tussle on how to get the Jeep down from the Lorry without a ramp we got it down with no damage to the Jeep. After leaving it in the garage reached home by 3 AM to got an SOS call from office so working now.

Will post detailed report, pictures and a video on the loading the Jeep to Lorry.

Thanks to J K Das and Triv team for a wonderful send-off.

Weren't there any warning lights for this? Remember my old matador Amby hit a stone and leaked oil. There was this red light lit up on the dash, and a beeper that won't turn off. Or was this something else?

Thats bad news, and I'm sure there's a long story behind it. At least he got to Chennai.
