are you saying that BA10 can be converted in to NGT2520 literally ??

or BA10 can be swapped with NGT520??

Have a question ...

As I'm learning more from the forum, for 4x4 and Mahindra vehicles, the nub of the matter is in the transfer case..

When in a scrap yard, how does one make out that it's a Borg Warner Transfer Case or the T18 transfer case?

I might be in the hunt soon after the rains

my bit
1) Borg Warner ( B&W ) made of all aluminum

2) T 18 total iron casting

3) T 18 has a sheet metal plate/cover at the bottom ( B & W , doesn't have that )

4 ) AFAIK T 18 may have a parking brake drum on it ( old ones ) but in B&W not so ( AFAIK )

5) Please PM Mr. Jeepster for few pics , I don't have any

hi

the T18 is cast iron TC.
& will be covered in oil & dirt.
& the front & rear drive shaft output is on the lower side back to back.

the BORG WARNER TC is made of aluminum.
this will have the rear output directly behind the gear bos out put.

BTW there are two types of BW TC's one is mechanical shift (comes with Thar ) & electric shift (comes with bolero/scorpio).

I don't know about the cost, can guide on what needs to be done and how.

For converting BA10 to NGT 530 on Scorpio (Gear drive models)- KIT -- 0703AD3410N (this includes gears / synchros / rails etc). Input gear assembly as per corresponding model will be required.

For converting BA10 to NGT 530 on Scorpio (Chain drive models)- KIT -- 0703AD3400N (this includes gears / synchros / rails etc). Input gear assembly as per corresponding model will be required.

NOTE 1. Gear and Chain drive had different gear ratios. GD was V3 and CD was V1. IIRC, difference between the two was only in the 2nd and 3rd gears.

NOTE 2. This is a skilled job, so it is highly recommended to be done at an authorized M&M service outlet. There is a detailed guideline on what needs to be done and how.

I trust conversion kit of BA10 to NGT530 was devp in late 2006 or early 2007.I was offered the same for my bolero XDP3- BA10 combo due to meshing sound in gear box,later replaced with new NGT530 from the plant.

Need info on mating a NGT520 2WD with a T18.Please let me know the part no for the Adapter between NGT 520 and T18 plus any additional part(Input pinion or shaft).If I can source the required parts from any TBHP members for the conversion.Do I need to change the existing cross member for the KMT of replace with that of the NGT ?
