Update from last week.

Due to the power cut Manreet's factory was closed on Saturday so we lost one day and worked only on Sunday.

But still we managed to complete the most tricky part bumper mounting and shaping the angles on the left & right parts with center and the downward facing edge. Now the bumper feel more solid and rigid.

Manreet is procuring a pipe bending machine may be next week, so we may make a cool bull bar also for our bumper.

Pic 1: Manreet's dad assisting us with the bumper mounting marking.
Pic 2,3,4 : Bending, Welding, and final mounting results in the pics Manreet and Amit. Me of course behind the camera.

Now the next part is making the corner bends. We will be able to give it the final shape by next weekend.

Akshay bhaji these pics were clicked somewhere offroad from Pinjore Baddi road. I myself do not the exact location we just got there, but will take you along when we go next time. : )

jaysmokesleaves: I will sure upload the cost once the project is complete.

ok so this week we are done with the most crucial part, we made the side turns. It was very tricky to cut and make all those angle to bend the sheet sideways. But Amit did a very fine job and finally the bumper is in shape now and its looking good.

There were a few mistakes we made but we are still happy that till now thing are going good overall.

Some pics

How much did the snorkel cost?

Can you shed some light on how it was installed?

We are near completion now, Amit spent last 2 week on filing and grinding of edges by hand. Then applied filler and we are smoothing it.
It will be compete soon.

Finally after almost 3 months of efforts we are ready with our Scorpio Winch Bumper.

The bumper is all done expect buffing of paint (to be done after 1 week), guards on the fog lamps and a rubber beading around the top edge of bumper to fill gaps and provide cushion.

Here are the pics from my phone, more clear pix from camera will follow soon.

This looks wonderful. Very well done job. I am curious about the power source for the winch. You are taking it from the fan connections, or directly from battery. How much current does the winch draw?
On an unrelated note, nice to see yet another 4x4 running Continental Cross Contact AT.

tsk: heres the winch details electric winch manufacturers, electric winch exporters, electric winch suppliers, electric winch OEM service. On runva-winch.com, we have connected it directly to battery. Yaa these tyre are good onroad and oddroad also never got stuck offraod and never skip, under steer and adds to the offroad character of car. Snorkel will be up soon, bending the pipe for it.

and livyodream: this is a 4x2

Cool project! the finished product looks awesome. If you can share the cost, it would be great. I also own a Scorpio LX 4x2 and am looking for a similar bumper. While doing it custom would be great, I don't have the resources (Lathe and fabricators) to do a fine job like this.

I have been searching the forums for alternatives and found that, I can place a made to order bumpers (8-10 days) around 13-17k. If you have any feed back on such an alternative, it would be good.

1. This is a PRAD bumper available at bluegarage.in http://bluegarage.in/Automobile-Stor...bullbar?PId=90

2. This one is from Jeepstudio - http://www.jeepstudio.com/portfolio/...-winch-bumper/ - Don't know pricing or availability

I have a 2010 Scorpio LX which has done 55k and I plan to keep it for a few more years before I flip it over. The OEM bumpers from Mahindra are sturdy but loses out the natural black color over a period of time, so thinking about alternatives

Thanks in advance
