Question What Jeep / 4x4 parts should I order from Abroad?

Most of you know that my next jeep project is starting soon.

The good news is that my brother is coming down from UK in the end of Feb and can carry nearly 25 kgs worth of stuff for me.

I need to know what i should order from there.

Don't want parts that are available here. No winches or bumpers and heavy and large parts.

Need suggestions for smaller parts and gadgets that i can get shipped to him in UK and he will carry it.

- I'm ordering a britpart snorkel head

What else. Please suggest (with links if possible).

Why snorkle heads are they cheap in UK. I thought you get good quality stuff and imitation stuff easily here?

Switches i agree might be a good idea, maybe check for water proofed ones. Light and easy to carry.

Not sure if you can really buy something from UK as that region is always costlier for any automobile component. As far as my interactions concern with Europe Jeepers they look at Indian market for their Jeeping parts needs.

May be it will be a good idea to interact with M&M jeepers in UK or in Europe region. Just try to visit mahindra-register.org and see what is really possible in Europe Jeeping world. So you can try grabbing stuffs that attracts you.

I don't know if you are interested in this , or have immediate use for this .

1)synthetic rope for winch ( 12000 pound capacity ) new tech & very lightweight .

2) Compass for vehicular use ( liquid filled/suspended, that is not affected by the sheet metal of vehicle body ) + a meter that shows side & front tilt angle

Ah Tejas, This is a good idea but hold on don't order one now. A all new hybrid Accelerometer enabled gadget from India is going to rock the Jeeping world very soon.

May be soon you will be in a position to carry the same to abroad to help jeepers outside.

Yes, most of us do

Only a winch would exhaust your 25 kg load capacity, it may even exceed it.

#Water proof alternator.

#Diff Locks/Air Lockers

#Water Proof lights headlights, rear tail lights and fog lights.

Ill see if i can find a website which had details of a company which manufactures LED lights. Awesome and were reasonable too.

Keep us informed about the project.

Ha Ha Ha, but thanks . there are few more plans cooking-up though

@ Tejas ,I am trying to figure out few things but since you are building a Jeep & that too with MM parts so mechanical parts are out of question .

Only thing remains is Out door equipments ( some camping/trekking gear ? ) , accessories , & specialised electrical Items ( mentioned by Gogiji ) ,

I will like to suggest something if you are in tools ( other than surgical )

have a look these are hard to find ( you can get one for me though )

1) nut splitter/cutter ,used to open rusty jammed up nuts

2) ball joint separator

Check out which stuff for Land Rovers can be used on Jeeps. That stuff will be easily available there. If your brother has the time he can get some stuff fro the scrapped Land Rovers or Range Rovers there.

Tejas, How about a couple of authentic JEEP badges for the rear / side of the car? They are impossible to find in Bombay and look swell on Jeeps. Other stuff you can consider:

- An air compressor

- A good jerrycan

- A tent

- Authentic rear lamps

- Offroad jack

this wont work

1) only series Landies have very few parts interchangable & thats tricky ( I am doing this )

2) Mechanically Land Rover is close to British vehicles then American ones ( Jeeps ) ,

2) better buy new parts here for Jeeps then anywhere else ( ex diff locks , FW hubs )

3) mechanical parts are too heavy to handle ( his is 25 kg limit )

I don't know if you get this one on UK, but my long time dream to have a 4x4 enabled seat cover for my Jeep. Very specifically from SmittyBilt G.E.A.R brand, the pictures will do the talking now.

More information on other very innovative products could be found from this site: Smittybilt Automotive- Winches, Nerf Bars, Side Steps, Grille Guards, Seats and More

But then this is a US based store, I was aware smittybilt is also available in Singapore at this u 4x4 Accessories Singapore - Home

The idea here is that find smittybilt dealer in UK and you are done, tons of offering for we 4x4ers.
