| Dear Friends ,my long held dream finally come to fruition with the acquisition of 1986 model mahindra international 4*4 jeep in good condition. Its been really a long and arduous path to glory. Jeep had been primary carrier to our family since the time i remember as my father is in government department .Moreover I learnt driving on jeep which was also a mahindra international way back in early nineties. I was looking towards possessing the jeep for last year or so when i joined the Team-Bhp and the dormant jeeper in me got a freash lease of life. I have run through various threads of jeep rebuild and drooled over them. At one point of time I also thought of buying army disposals from mayapuri, but the Vitamin M and time made me change my mind . This jeep was seldom run at our family friends place for quite some time. The said uncle saw through me a budding and leashed jeeper and let go of his jeep virtually free. Now coming to the physical status of the jeep i think pictures would do better talking and i should take a back seat. Before the visuals .let me make you all aware that its been lying in open air for last four or five years and nature had had its full share of activism over it. Kindly advice me the cost involved in getting it painted and most importantly making the underside of the jeep rust proof .Moreover chassis portions needs special mention as it seems that it has some fractures as iron leafs are welded all along the chassis More pictures later |

| Hey Congrats man. Your jeep looks almost new in comparision to mine when I got it. So, don't worry. I think you should get it up and roaring with some minor works. (But, as rightly said by Jeepster keep 1 L as budget). Is it in running condition now? Last edited by wanderer4x4 : 22nd July 2011 at 14:50. |

Today i went for following things to begin with *Brand new battery MHD 800 *Minor self starter work *suspension overhaul done two or three days earlier The greatest part is that its front wheel drive is working great. The other day we tested its capability with around 4 quintal load and the old beau ty ran through muck and earth without much ado | |

| dear friends , the underside of my baby is quite a bit rusted . 1.Do i need to get the body unbolted from the chassis and get complete anti rust protection. ![]() 2.Yesterday i saw both the rear wheels wobbling as i was trailing it on my bike ,kindly suggest the measures to diagnose and correct the defect . 3.Its showing signs of compression leak as engine oil is splattered around the engine oil cap-I plan to work on engine later as engine is good enough as it starts in one crank |

| BHPian | Congrats Blueblooded. I eny you boy, for such a prized possession you got. The condition seems to be okay and easily doable with some good mechanic. Wish you good Luck on the restoration process. Do keep posting about the updates. Let me tell you I am investing in some mutual funds only to buy a jeep. Don't know when it would happen. |

| the oil leak indicates a GAS problem which means you will need to do a little engine work like new piston rings. please give it to a good mechanic & get a quote for all the work. do the mechanicals first & then body & paint. rgds, Nikhil |

| Dear jeepster. I was thinking other way round ,i mean first start with body work and proceed to painting then come back to engine. But you have suggested to go for the engine first then anything else . Please tell me about the availability of spares for mm CL500D.I am not too sure about their ready availability in Varanasi. Moreover, i need expert guidance as I can be easily fleeced by the mechanics . To begin with i have to scout for some reliable mechanic and then comes the money factor. @arka please tell me how to sort out the wheel wobbling issues |
