Same here, I got my Gurkha home today and i fallen in luv with it. I was very impressed by the way it handeled in traffic today!! Its surprisingly much easier than a coup, compared to my drive in other cars i reached home faster!!

I thought the engine would be under powered but not at all it was very perky and over takeing was very easy. I only used the 2 & 3 gears so no hazel at all(compared to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd and 4th of my elantra which i have to keep shifting all the time.)

Some thing tells me i really going to like this vehicle. Good luck to u too oldman..

oldmodel he maybe, oldman he is definitely not ;-).

After you use your Gurkha for a while, it will be nice if you could TD a Bolero and see how different it is? I am just wondering which would make a better daily driver.

is anyone willing the share the OTR price and other things about the Gurkha, like what was the waiting period, interior photos.

i read in CAR magazine....OTR price as 5.6 lakhs for BSIII. its the only one mentioned in the magazine.

Ex-showroom is about 7.8 Lakhs for the Hard Top with BS-III/AC/PS so the OTR price will be in the 8.2 to 8.5 lakhs depending on the state you register and what the life tax there is.

The softtop without ac is about 50K cheaper.

Well i have a Bolero too, so if u ask me its very hard to say. In terms of pick-up and handling both are equally matched, as for ride comfort both vehicles eat the pot holes very well, the Gurkha here has an added hight advantage so there is no problem of chase scraping the road ever. The Bolero is however a tinge bit refined than the Gurkha since it is mass produced, driving the Bolero feels like driving a car, its very smooth and refined these days. The Gurkha on the other hand is not as refined meaning the gear shifts are a bit far away and the interiors are like the Bolero LX even then when you compare both the Gurkha's off-roading capabilities far out strips the Bolero. So its actually a personal preference.

I was actually a Safari customer but after buying the Gurkha i have no complaints so far. I like the way it handles on road too.

I think the 4x4 Bolero may not be as comfortable due to the leaf springs suspension in th front. So I guess the Gurkha is comparable to the Bolero in terms of using as a daily driver.

I know what you mean by the slightly awkward gear lever placement. I felt the same when sitting in oldmodel's Gurkha as well. In fact I feel the same about the Scorpio's gear lever. But I suppose you get used to things like this after driving the vehicle for a while.

Default Gorgeous Gurkha Spotted!!!

I was crusing along Nungambakkam high road, post lunch and spotted this beautiful black Gurkha!! The guy was driving like there was no tomorrow, but fortunately, i was on an tricked-out, ungeared scooterette!!! Managed to click a few snaps while on the move and one still shot at the signal!! Beautiful is not the appropriate word!!! The pics don't do justice as they were on my mobile camera. Is this anyone from our group?? If it is, then congrats on a great job!!! I've blanked the plates for safety reasons.
