It will be great for newbie jeepers to have a look of all the mean machines at one place so they can decide on how to proceed in buying there JEEP or upgrading their JEEP!!!

Ok, here is the pic of my JEEP. Its a Mahindra CJ500D 4x4 with the International Engine and 3 T90 Speed Gearbox.

also, can someone tell me what are the differences in MM540 and MM550?

thats it? no changes in the body, engine or drivetrain?

also, did M&M sell the 550 after discontinuing the 540 or both were sold simultaneously? which is more preferred among hardcore off-roaders?

Duh..

Is that correct?

The 540/550 came as DP and XDB

DP: the XDP 4.90 B - 4 gears - 2112cc
XDB: the XD3P B - 5 gears - 2498cc

The 550 also had 4 gears.

The 540 was listed as a 6 seater and the 550 as a 8 seater
