looking forward for the detailed info.

i like the last photo, typical jeep territory!
Pram the jeep most probably would have been done up in mayapuri only!!!
I have seen many jeeps being refurbished, painted etc for sending to the northeast!!!

You are right sir, the papers show it. I've traced it was auctioned in J&K and most probably brought to Delhi. It had a temporary Delhi registration when I bought it. Got it through a dealer in Guwahati, Now there a quite a few Army MM550's here in shillong and people are even willing to shell out quite a bit for one of those reconditioned Army MM550's from local dealers in Shillong. They are quite popular as trailer pullers here.

@johannes nice ride there!

What you said about driving from Delhi is amazing , considering the amount of work that is going into restoring army disposals here you are an exception (in a good way )

Do update the thread and forum with your experience and especially the reconditioning in Delhi part. I am sure it will help other aspiring jeepers on Team BHP like my self.

I think u've misunderstood me here. I didn't actually drive all the way from Delhi, My dealer (who is in Guwahati) got it reconditioned for me in Delhi and got it driven to Guwahati , All I did was just pick the Jeep from Guwahati @1.85 Lacs. Anyways I shall be posting my complete story of how I got it real soon. By the way I myself too am just a kindergarten Jeeper with lots to learn from fellow Team-BHPians.

thats nice to hear about the Willys spare parts, how about exporting some to India?

India is a big consumer of these spare parts!

Nice Jeep there Aamir. I have seen many videos and pics of your club and jeep, you guys do some serious offroading there. For your jeep, I always wondered how you do all these stunts without rollcage. Any perticular reason for not putting up a roll bar? Can you put some light on that?

I am doing offroading since 1984.So far so good.
I also would like to make a proper rollcage or rollbar but nobody suggested a proper one
I also tried to get information from g503, even the experts told me not to ruin this GPW.
Their point of view is that this GPW was used in WWII for many years without Rollcage & Seat belts.
If u have any specific design in ur mind do let me know

thanx

Hi Johannes,

You have a very good Jeep there. Are these over head fenders are fitted in Delhi only? Any Mods you have done?

I am also planning to get these fenders from delhi if available.

Aamir bhai,

Thats one of the best looking GPW I have seen in orginal condition.
Congrats for becoming the president of IJC !
Your GPW's colour is also very unique. It stands out among all other Jeeps.

Keep the pics coming, we like them.
