Jeep gurus , need some serious instructions to modify my JEEP its a cj500 one
87 model , not a cut chase jeep ,not a 4x4, I wish to know what we can do on that with out making it cut chase.

The inspiration of buying a jeep is by seeing the orange jeep which was posted in this thread earlier.

I will be starting a separate thread for the work.

Yesterday I handed over the jeep to the tinker person.

Gurus , throw in some light.

Does a Endavour set of alloys + tyres suits for the cj500 ?

Can I integrate an exaust system(in the side) to it ?

can I cahnge the air filter to the which go beyond the roof (oops I do not know the name of that kind filter) ?

I am not planning to build a roof for that jeep , so if I put in a power steering does the wether in Kerala suits that well , does the wether in Kerala harms the Power steering ?

Are you referring to the person who has a factory spec Ford SPW, Trax Gurkha, Jonga, Gypsy etc?

I have seen a Jonga with him. The Getaway is black and has a brass plate reading Mandradiar. Lovely jeeps. As mentioned earlier he has a summer home here in Coonoor. Will post pictures if I am able to see the 4x4s on the road, which must be next summer.

Sebastian,

Thw ammo box on the wing and that shovel does nothing for this jeep. Also is it normal for passenger portion of the tub to be at an angle? (by the angle I am referring to the are running from the passenger entry point to the rear of the vehicle where it meets the roofing material).

Bigman, I second you about the ammo box and shovel. It is not normal for a JEEP to have the tub's upper part shape in such an angle. Its an aftermarket job for sure.

Btw, is it only me who feels that this JEEP has a slight tilt towards the driver side ?

That tub modification is to fix the lock for half door.

Dear Foby, please stay away from that Jeep.As many BHPians have pointed out, there is something abnormal with the rear passenger portion of the JEEp. I suspect it's chassis may have a bend due to overloading in the rear. Check whether the Jeep has a taxi history( in case you plan to buy it)

A cut chase jeep with ultra modern features ,

double eletric Winch , Hunters Seat and gun rack fixed on front , low profile alloy wheels whith biggest width I had ever seen. power breaks, search lights. etc etc.

The jeep belongs to a goundar from pollachi who is crazy in hunting

will post the photos later[/quote]

Hi Foby,
That is nice, must have been interesting.
1> Wonder how low profile tires work with rock terrain.
2>But then again we are talking about poachers.(Hunting being banned in India).
3> The real hunters are on our borders, hunting down people who threaten our way of life by conducting CI ops.
4> The wanna be poachers take guns to illegally shoot down unarmed animals. It's pathetic when one shoots down a defenceless animal to flatter one's (maybe flailing ?) manhood.
cheers
Jammy

The other day there was a jeep in chennai supposed to be built for some one who hunts. It was a nice Di 4wd jeep, but the purpose was wrong. It feels pathetic! Any way this is off topic!
