Its a nice sight to seen a well maintained Austin.
There are two well maintained Austin champ's in Hyderabad.
It comes with a sealed / waterproof Rolls-Royce engine and electricals. This unique feature gives this Jeep to cross small rivers and water streams which other defenders cannot.

Hey Wads,

The Painting is in Progress, with half the time traveling, its becoming difficult to ensure that the work gets completed in time.

Yup, sure I have plans to join you guys some time. Once my jeep is done, will post the pics

Nice jeep, but it doesnt look like an original 1942 GPW. Seems to be a cj3b converted to low bonnet.

Can you please comment more on this.?

Betw:I have recently restored this Jeep. It has all the original ford parts. Few weeks back there was a problem with the brake pads, and brake master cylinder. Both these parts were not available in Hyd, had to source them from Mumbai. The chasis no. of my Jeep is an exact match with the series of GPW's produced in 1942.

Hi Silverwood,

I hope you are not taking this personally, its just something i felt. I am no jeep guru, but there are few things that i observed. It could be that the body has been replaced with a 3b tub.

1. Tailgate is that of a 3b
2. This Shovel is there on a 3b
3. This is again an army fitting from 3b, GPW has it but its placed higher.

May be a few more pics of interior and front and left side will make it more easier for us to decide.

Regards,

Fahad

Hi Fahad,

I agree with you.

The tail gate is is not the original one. This opens from the right rather than coming down( as in sand trucks). The original one was damaged during an accident and was beyong repair.I am still on the lookout for an original tail gate.

The shovel and the gun stand were locally procured.

Regards,

Waseem.

Welcome Sekharan its a nice find a 4 wd MM 540, I had the same colour MM540 2WD which I throughly enjoyed and I am missing it, it was a mistake parting it.

It may be too early as you recently acquired any plans for the jeep, looks, performance. I am sure you must be having some.

Posting pics taken at a recent OTR. It was a very small size OTR, which was covered by ET Now (ZigWheels). Show was telecast on Sunday.
