Is that so?
I think it is one of those make-your-life-easier things, this one helps you lower your spare tyre without breaking your back. Esp so, when you use Army spec rims or some BIG tyres.

Edit: After a closer look, I am not too sure . I expected it to have a hinge at the bottom, that is missing.

Exactly. The height should not differ as both are 16 x 7.50.

Tarkesh are you painting the FWH unit Red, like the Army walla?

Slightly OT- Does anyone know which company makes 16x7.50 NDMS tires, which are available? Not 16 x 7.00!

I think Superking makes it. Arka/Jammy can throw more light on this.

OT: Whats the status of your hunt?

Thanks

Actually, they only have a 16 x 7.00, just out of curiosity wanted to know if anyone made and sold a 16 x 7.50 NDMS.

I answered your very statement in the 4x4 (The Offroad Rims & Tyres Thread)Offroad Rims/Tyres Thread thread and posted the question about the 7.50 NDMS as well. Just curious as I have not seen anyone with that size NDMS shoes.

This is available with SuperKing dealers.

I had posted this question on another thread.. asking here as well, even MRF only has 16 x 7.00, does anyone know of an NDMS pattern in 16 x 7.50 available in the market? Just curious.
Jeep Search is off. Wait is on! More hopefully sooner than later.

Default Problem

Hi All,

All Jeep Gurus, I need info about FIP - my mech says the rotor of the Pump is not working properly , he is giving it for caliberation but I want to know about how much a new FIP costs? I have Lucas FIP as stock one.

In mech's language it is called "Bosch Pump" . Kindly update on which is the best pump?

Am I right in saying "Bosch Pump" is FIP? If yes then pls let me know the price of new FIP and which one is best Lucas or Bosch? This is bit urgent as I have to get the Jeep registered and it should be running flawlessly.

Ricky,

See if you can get a reconditioned one (get it tested before handing over your money). Reconditioned ones in our area (from Bolero XD3P) could be had for RS3000.

I think Harjeev mentions the cost of a new one in his MM550 thread, from what I recall it is a costly affair.

If you get a reconditioned unit then have it tested by someone independent to the seller. It is not unknown for sellers to collude with some local joey who will say the unit is A1 condition whereas in reality it is in a poor state.

I got mine reconditioned locally, the guy charged less than RS1500 to do it an it works fine.

Hi Satnam,

Actually the rotor is not working properly - this is what my mech says. I asked the caliberation centre they said they will change the same and recaliber it - the cost they said is Rs.6000/- includind the recondition charges .He is giving assurity that rest FIP is fine and will work exactly the way it should.

I checked the other threads as well the overall cost is something between 10K to 15K for new one.

What Say? Go for new one or take the chance of getting it recondition with changing rotor?

Where or who is doing the reconditioning?

I know Bosch has their centers where they do the reconditioning. Not too sure about Lucas.

If the job is done at a proper company centre then go for the 6K job, just get them to give you a full report which states that everything apart from the rotor is fine.

If it is some desi local guy then I would not pay 6K, there will be no backup if it does not function correctly and he will just pass the buck.

Lucas TVS

looks like Pune does have a Lucas aftersale service centre:

Lucas-TVS Office Network - After Network

Hi satnam/Spitfire ,

I will check this for sure, And yes it is Lucas Service centre only.

By any chance do you know the FIP series used in Army 550? I checked on Lucas site given by you , it shows DP200 or DPC . Which is the one you have on your 550?

I too will agree with satnam here!!! If the job is being done at Lucas or at Bosch its good to pay 6k!!! and they should give you a warranty for 6 months on the job done!

So my vote is that you should go with that job but from an authorised place only.
