Tweak the soft top set up a bit and it can serve as a decent jungle safari vehicle as well; one major advantage of a soft top jeep. Back to Sonanadi in 2013

It was nice to see an offroading picture of the jeep being published in a magazine of the leading newspaper in Kolkata "The Telegraph", which did a cover story on adventure and offroading. This snap was taken way back in 2010 during our Leh trip near Darcha.

My jeep mentor bhpian 'renegade' was kind enough to fabricate a bumper for my jeep around four years ago. More than the looks, the bumper showed its toughness in surviving quite a good number of occasions. The design was very unique that time in the Indian scenario, though not any more now. A recent visit to his place was a pleasant surprise for me. Some 'offroad goodies' were in the process of fabrication. And the first of the lot, a new offroad bumper, was again something i was thoroughly impressed with.

Posting few pics with his permission.

It initially was this kind of stage

And when finished was something like this, though i must say the shade was even better in reality

And these were few snaps of the place

Though i wished to be again the first person to have the new thing, a certain THAR owner was luckier

On asking the details, it was told that it was made out of 3mm cold roll steel, designed on Cad, cut on CNC plasma/water-jet, press bent in CNC, MIG welded and powder-coated with some really good shades!

Few small but very practical things will soon be installed in my jeep also. Also hopefully a properly fabricated door will also be in place.
