Probably strut inserts in a coilover body.
I'm interested in the springs though. what happened to the leafsprings?

I am actually not happy with the almost final project as the engine though better than the XD3P still is not powerful enough for me. I am in the process of acquiring a Scorpio engine for transplant. I have already acquired a NGCS chassis to handle the additional power from the engine. The engine install will be done step by step pictorially which will be documented here.

The body is in great shape, not to mention the modifications done to the seat mounts etc.
The Scorpio engine has been sourced. I managed to get a 2005, Scorpio Chain drive engine, in excellent condition for 65K. This included all hoses, intercooler, power steering pump, alternator, self starter and oil/ air filters.
I also bought a 2005, Bolero 4wd Chassis for 8K.
I am about to start work on reducing the Bolero chassis length by about 9" to match the length of the MM550 chassis.
Pictures will be added as work progresses.

This is getting very interesting indeed.

How about pics of this engine and the WIP pics?

Where was the engine and chassis sourced from? know someone at an Insurance company?

Hey you posted your MM550 pic Link (MM540-4WD wish list - what you really want in your MM540-4WD?)

please post more pics here too... looks great as of now. Try to move the Hella's in between the 2 Red horns. Or is it reserved for the winch? Either way try it. Current position doesnt fit the bill.

I thought i will see your 550 pic first on your thread. Anyway, Congratulations on your MM550 SPOA!! If mahindra calls new 550 thar, then your is Sahara, looks capable of crossing even bigger desert. Good job.

p.s Please relocate the lamps. Also, the fender covers are hiding the width of the axle. Remove them or put smaller ones.

Vinod,
In this instance, the HIMALAYAN THAR is a mountain goat that lives in the Himalayas, it has exceptional climbing abilities, which has inspired Mahindra to name its new generation jeep after and not the THAR desert.

Jyobeb,
Can you give inputs on where to source the LSD its damage on your pocket?
OK OK I got the info down the line on this thread.
Also lift and fold seats of Innova are really innovative work of art.
A very informative and honest thread.

Updates and a few pics.
I have been extremely busy and hence have not been able to go to the workshop much and we all know Indian workshops. No work gets done if you are not around and specially so in the case of modified vehicles.
As most of you know, I have replaced my chassis with a NGCS Bolero 4WD chassis but instead of reducing the length, I decided to increase the length of the body!
The Scorpio engine has been fitted with a top mounted Pajero intercooler.
I have replaced the radiator with a Bolero Aluminium radiator with the regular Scorpio clutch type fan and also a Safari Push type condenser fan in front of the radiator. This will be in addition to the front AC condenser fan.
I have also fitted an Innova radiator de-gassing tank in anticipation of higher running temperatures.
I ahve fabricated and fitted a Z-Link stering link rod as also a traction bar in the rear. I have fitted longer perches in front to limit axle wrap.
I will post picture of the full jeep in a couple of days.
Now for the pics.
Suggestions and critical remarks welcome.
