| BHPian | It must be 2 nos and not 3. bought from mayapuri(padam's i guess). 80k each. 2001 and 2002 model which has disc brakes in front. 15k per jeep for the transportation. One jeep is getting restored in bangalore and the other in Shimoga. They have also bought 10 sand cum highway tires at 3.5k per tyre. The bodyline is too good and even the OEM seats are in very good condition. Engine is in running condition. |

| Actually four 550's (ranging from 1999~2002) were brought by two diffrent group of friends and two Gypsy kings. Two are already up and running in Bangalore. All the 550's have been sourced from Padam. Well it's kind of nasty experience to them. As one vehicle is yet to reach Blr for the past 47 days.. the wait is getting too too long. Well I have done a rating on the following factors Bodyline, Electrical, Mechanical on a scale of 1 to 5 [1 being the worst and 5 being the best] Transport from Delhi to Blr and Current status being the factors. Lots of missing parts and delayed transportation from Delhi to Bangalore are the two things one has to be careful. And finally they are yet to register it in Bangalore. Hope guys this is useful. The below is as per the owners sayings. 550 model : 1999 Bodyline : Rating 3 Engine :Rating 2 (was able to start after fixing the starter and other issues now completly overhauled) Mechanical:Rating 2 1/2 (no brake pads, brake liners replaced, 4X4 still not working) Electrical : Rating 1 basic wirk done to keep it running Time to hit the road :Already on road (RTO work pending) Brought On : 20-8-2009 Transport :Rating 3 (took 15days to reach Blr) 4-09-2009 Status : Up and running after engine overhaul.Tarpolin fixed. Note :This was up and running in Mayapuri BUT, failed to start on reaching Bangalore... god Knows why... He had paid 15k more for this vehicle.this vehicle had a lot of counterfiet spares running on it. 550 model : 2000 Bodyline : Not known Engine : Not known Electrical : Not known Mechanical: Not known Brought On : 20-8-2009 Transport : Rating 0 Still in transit GOD KNOWS WHEN IT WILL REACH BANGALORE ... (as per the owner) Owner still counting days for the past 1 and 1/2 months) Time to hit the road : Not known Status : still in transit 550 model : 2001 Bodyline :Rating 5 Engine : Rating 1 ( need to work on the whole engine) Electrical : Rating 2 (need to work on all aspects) Mechanical: Rating 2 (needs to work on 4X4) no gears inside only casing present Brought On : 4th Sept 2009 Transport :Rating 5 Left Delhi on 8th Sept and reached Shimoga on 15th Sept) Time to hit the road : 2 months Status : Currently working on mechanical issues, engine work yet to start. 550 model : 2002 Bodyline : 4* (looks like a redone body work) Engine : 2* See a lot of white smoke (needs to do the whole engine) Electrical : 4* Mechanical: 4* all seems to work Time to hit the road : running (RTO work pending) Brought On : 4th Sept 2009 Transport :Rating 5 (Left Delhi on 8th Sept and reached Bangalore on 15th Sept) Status : Up and running GYPSY KING model : 2000 (carb) Bodyline : Rating 2 Engine : Not known Electrical : Rating 1 Mechanical: Rating 2 Electrical : Rating 0 Time to hit the road : WORK YET TO START. Brought On :20-8-2009 Transport : Rating 3 (took 15days to reach blr) 4-09-2009 Status : WORK YET TO START. GYPSY KING model :1998 (carb) Bodyline: Rating 2 Engine : Rating 1 (lots of stuff missing like fuel pump, plugs, wiring) Electrical : Rating 0 The whole wiring harness changed Mechanical: Rating 3 Time to hit the road : another 7 days. | Senior - BHPian | Does it not make more sense to pick up army disposals from Avadi? Isn't this closer or am I missing something here? Also as of now are there any bhpians from Bangalore who have Army550 rides?

We will have to wait for 1 more years for MPFI Gypsies as they were supplied to the army only after 2003.

The registation documents are yet to reach the owners, should be reaching them in a day or two. These are as per my knowledge It will be registered in the original bidder's name and will be transwered to your name but will be a PB regestered vehicle. Any way will keep you posted once they are done with the registration process is done -Sathya
