Hey Sawyer,
Hope, you are doing fine!
Thanks a lot for sharing those pictures. Gypsy looks real good and the new doggy wins it all
The lights on the windshield are the same as what you have on the bumper.
They are quite useful when you are on the trails.
For normal usage, i got my OEM headlights removed and replaced them with army headlights which are made of glass (Minda make). They cost just 280 bucks and they can take 100/90 bulbs. With that on, you would not need any further lights. Only downside, you would lose the headlight leveling option. Not much of an issue for me.

Hey Ragul,
Thanks buddy. Hope, your new Gypsy is doing well.
I have no modifications done on the seating.
Shahnawaz gave me front-facing rear seats. I replaced my side benches with it. Got new seat covers for all the seats. That's about it.

Cheers,
Deepak

@Santosh: Thanks buddy! Have some plans/ideas for the Gypsy after seeing many in the forum, but i guess, they've to wait.

Another short story to share. I had been to Germany for a couple of weeks where i was in contact with one of the authorized ARB dealers.
Got a chance to check out the OME (Old Man Emu) suspension kit for Gypsy. Trust me, a SJ ran real sweeeeeet with these on. So, for all those who have a problem with the bad ride quality of Gypsy, you always have this OME kit.
Although, i felt it was more expensive than in India, the ARB dealer told me that there would be problems in the aircraft to carry hi-pressure shocks. Since i was there for a very short time, i din't check for courier options.
For everybody's benefit, i am attaching the kit i was enquiring for. It has the correct part numbers for a complete kit.
Does anybody have a clue on how much would this cost in India? (someday, someday.. )
Cheers,
Deepak

Deepak - EMU/ARB link not opening...

PS - Get the kit details, order from US sitting in India with a credit card, they will home deliver it for a cost. You get peace of mind. Dont try to bother any of your friends to bring a 'EMU suspension' kit, no one will ... It is approx 40kilos

Thanks buddy. Fixed it now. Please check and let me know if it still doesn't work.
I discussed about this with the ARB dealer in Germany and he says that i would end up paying custom duties if i get it couriered.
I shall nevertheless check online about the US prices and keep the thread updated Santosh.
Cheers,
Deepak

Now I know, the hardtop Gypsy comes with better seating upholstery than the softtop with vinyl.

I saw a brand new HT gypsy supplied to government last week.

Cheers

Hey Cyrus,
They do! I know of friends buying other colors like Harvest Green, Silver and Ice Blue. But ya, white is the most popular choice and also the color that is quickly available.
Cheers,
Deepak

Starter,

Your ride looks more eye catching than the first time I saw him/her. Didn't notice the front bumper change till now. Beautiful.

Hey Suresh,
Thank you! Yup, got the bumper installed last week.

Hey Jaggu,
Yup, this is the new slider design. I had the previous ones Jaggu, but Vijay was somehow not ok with taking the side body cladding off. So, he was so kind to design a new one, wherein, i do not have to take off anything.

Oh, the new shackles have definitely improved the ride quality. Coupled with the smoother steering, thanks to FWH, overall, it feels super good

My leaf springs seem to need a re-cambering but folks at Suraksha warned me of a super bouncy ride after that. So, withheld it for now. Want to check about this with you guys before taking the next step. I would want to add an extra leaf or two as well. Stop gap, till i get to buy a set of OME

That's about it for now.
Cheers,
Deepak

Your ride is looking great as ever. Clean, simple and wonderful. I might be doing something similar very soon

BTW I noticed in the recent pic, that you've removed the fog lamps that you had near the A pillar. Any reason for that??

Thanks a lot Harjeev.
Doing something similar on which of your vehicles? You have a garage that's a dream of every offroader. So, just wondering which of your vehicles you are thinking about
Regarding the lights, i've removed them because there were too many
I still have the clamps (on windshield hinge) and the wiring is still intact.
I shall bolt it on whenever i would need. No other reason buddy.

Cheers,
Deepak

Recamber for front or rear? If front go for additional plate instead.
