My overall cost of this project has been 2.5L which includes a basic stock gypsy with:
- MPFI engine, ecu and wiring
- added header and K&N
- total mechanical makeover
- electricals and lighting
- a solid paint job (which i am very happy with)
- soft top, matting and back seats
fantastic ride buddy. It's looks really sober yet powerful when it wants to be. Could you throw some light on the carb to mpfi conversion and also, what condition was the MPFI engine? brand new? used and restored etc etc?

amanpreet;1694327]Yes Harjeet the price includes Mpfi engine with K&N filter and headers...
And i am taking part in the Desert Storm next month... Hope it goes well this time.
My own Gypsy pics are posted in the Gypsy Pics sections. Most of the jeeps that i have done are Rally 1s. Well will try posting as much as i can.
Fantastic job done mate. Looking forward for a detailed review on how she performs @ the DS

Thanks Anil, when i read such comments, i feel really good

My total cost was 2.8L which included new tyres and rims worth 30k. The engine is a 1.3L Gypsy King engine and refurbished - every part of it was opened cleaned, and if required, replaced; but no major parts were replaced, just bolts, washers rubbers etc. The replacement and engine work itself costed me about 50k.

I had her built by a friend named Aman in Noida. I am very happy with the overall work, especially when it comes to engine and the mechanicals.

@Married2speed, i just put the details about the carb to mpfi conversion, but Aman might be able to throw some more light when he sees your post.

@Aman, LOLz. I should have thought of that, and it will probably get the cost for my lamps :P and BTW, there is NO WAY i am letting you test the limits of MY jeep again - its out of your garage and mine now (just kidding ofcourse - but yeah, i am serious of not being part of your test drives atleast)

That's cool cos i had met him last week and went again yesterday ( he was not available though ). Here is what he had to offer me http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...i-jeeps-9.html (Mayapuri Jeeps)

However , he has 10-11 more gypsies with him. Few questions -
  • Is this guy good?
  • How much can i push him in terms of negotiations?
  • Besides Aman are there any other names ( yours or any others ) that i can use to give an impression that i know what i'm talking about cos i think i have to be very careful in terms of negotiations in order to not get fooled
  • Anything else that i need to know about him before dealing with him?
Your help would be much appreciated.
