where there is a will, there is a way.

where there is a will, there is an indian way.

im very happy to see people putting in their 100% efforts to restore a MM jeep ground up, from bumper to bumper. what ever they cant find, they make it for the jeep.

weather Thar is affordable or not, people like many on this forum will continue making/restoring their own JEEP!

like the saying goes...'its a JEEP thing...'

Hey Jassy,

Great restoration happening. Looks like the vehicle is in very capable hands. Mr. Jasbir is doing a great job.

If you don't mind my asking, what would be the approximate total cost of the restoration? I read somewhere earlier that you paid around 95k for the jeep. Was that with or without the registartion/ paperwork?

Slightly OT: Since you are based in Mumbai, are you by any chance getting the car registered in MH or out of state?

Regards
Gautam.

Gautam,
I hven't purchased for 95k, its more than that and that also without registration and I am getting the car registered in MH..
I hven't calculated the money I hve spent on restoration yet coz the work is still On and for me my passion is more important than money..
Regards,
Jassy..

Hi Jaasy,

Great going and no doubt that it will turn into a superb jeep!

Can you tell me how to fix that Jeep logo on body, By just welding on top of the body or any other technic?

One more question, is it possible to make the same with any laith machine people? how much will cost for a pair like that??

thanks,
Sadiq.

the body of the jeep would be cut and logo sheet would be welded on that part..

you could get it made from any guy who has a CNC machine and it would cost you for 15-20k approx or may exceed more (depending upon the vendor)..

Regards,
Jassy..

Have been reading your thread since yesterday and am very impressed with your LOVE for the vehicle and the TIME that you're investing to get what you've imagined. Bad engine or good engine..it's the LOVE for the vehicle and the emotions that matter.

Just cannot wait to see the final outcome. Few questions though -

How much did you buy the zeep for?
What's the restoration cost so far?
Are you planning to use it only for OTR's or something else too ? - maybe i missed on the answer for this..pardon me for that.
OT - what would be the Resale value of such a intimate rebuild after about an year?

Pardon me for so many questions but this has been my agenda for years now but no back in terms of usage/ownership of the vehicle from family/friends

hi harish nayak
the the Delhi market is very different then mumbai one, so its difficult to comment on the resale value.

please ask harjiv ji .
he is also from Delhi & has all the experience right from buying ,restoring, using & unfortunately selling his mm550xd .

Hi Jassy,

You could do a similar job that I have done on my MM550.
Here are a few pics of the same.

Cheers

Hi Jassy,

Thanks for the reply. 15 to 20K . I think you didn't get me. I'm not asking you about the cost of Die but cost for a pair of those stamped sample sheets only.

Thanks,
Sadiq.
