Yeah, 7 kmpl is surprise to me too. I'm thinking of adding a free wheeling hub in the front to extract little more on the FE.

This is 1988 mfgd vehicle.

@vinod_nookala, Thanks pal.

Guys, Finally the TLC FJ62 made it upto Chennai. Last weekend I crossed atleast 525kms from Coimbatore to Chennai on my beauty.

The vehicle initially assessed and serviced by fellow bhpian(powertwin) and senior restorer of multiple vintage beauty. I must thank him for all the support he has given me during the entire course of owning the TLC FJ62.

Last weekend I landed in Coimbatore only to drive the vehicle back to Chennai, it was all awesome as I didn't face any delay or schedule change or what soever. Initially the exhaust was emitting black colored smoke, after oil, air-filter change and some tune-up the vehicle exhaust is sending water drops. So good the compression aspect of the engine. The A/C also got fixed, we found that the power-antenna unit is damaged only before our trip back to chennai so I add that to future todo list.

We started from Coimbatore at around 6am in the morning and reached my farm, till that time there was no issue but later we started having some minor teething issues. At one point of time the vehicle stopped, and as powertwin was there with me, I had no actual problems.

We found that the electric fuel pump had some problems after heating up to this much distance, also some problem with slow speed.

We reached Tiruvannamalai to fix the fuel pump problem by replacing it with a new one. But the slow speed issue is diagnosed that the slowspeed jet and needle has problems. Also the carb packing had some damages, Need to fix this on priority may be I will get them in a day or two.

Now some thing else which is off topic to this thread but many of you in 4x4 section will surely appreciate this.

We visited the recent fire accident spot in Coimbatore, yes the scrap yard of coimbatore caught with fire couple of days back. My intention to meet one of the shop keeper who used to give lots of parts for my restorations (cycle and jeep).

While walking on the fire burnt ashes, something strike me very hard and no stopping power could do it, my hands automatically called the Guru Mr.UBS.

Wish to know what happen ? ;-)

to be continued...

The item that took my attention became my property in no time. Bought it and shipped it in this mini truck. Guess what it is?

@Ken, You are partially right, that one was a engine only item on the micro truck.

@Shibu, Finally you have guessed it.

Yes, I have got myself a GPW-6015(1942-1945) GoDevil petrol powerhouse on the burnt ashes of Coimbatore scrap yard. The beauty is that this engine rotates and came with missing starter motor and distributer cup. Otherwise I even got the clutch housing, starter motor and oil filter etc.

Looks like I'm getting my old Tiger back to home ;-)

Now I'm on search for a Ford/Willys pre 1951 model Jeep in any condition so this engine finds its life in one of the old body that was designed for the same purpose.

You are one lucky guy. Why not pick up any CJ3B in scrap condition and covert it to a low bonnet with this go-devil?

And, what is the gear box that goes with this? The same T90?
