The whole 4X4 forum is happy for your working pump.

Tomorrow allow me to post one photograph on your thread, it is regarding petrol filters.
Regards,
Thank you so much Fazal sir. You don't need to seek any permission from me sir. Any inputs from you and the others are invaluable to a novice like me and many others!

Okay, Finally all mechanicals in place (touch wood).

Got a muffler too! and it really muffles! The result of the engine build up was being messed up by the older muffler.

2nd filter gotten rid of.
fuel piping altered in a way that it does not come in the way of the draft.

Drove about 10+ kms and it was smooth driving! More confidence on the new FP! Will take it on longer drives a.k.a drive to office and back.

Now for non-mechanicals
  • Remove mud flaps (at least the rear one's)
  • Floor mat
  • RVM's
  • Woriginal Speedo (got a few on eBay)
  • Vacuum wiper
  • Anti rust coating
  • Finally Paint!

Shubz,
Actually, it is the third filter you got rid of, the first is the one between the tank and EPF and the other glass one on the MP.
You were earlier running on three filters.

Regards,
I stand corrected sir. The third filter gotten rid of.

Non-mechanical wish list also include

Front and rear black out lamps! The ones that I have on the front are only ornamental and non functional. The ones at the rear are so feeble that one needs to really go close to it even at nights to see if they are on! (now that is my tail lamp when H/L's are on)

Clean the rear black out lights, and they are supposed to be intense only at night like a reflecting sticker does, they will not be visible if you put them along with the regular tail lights.

I had mentioned about the correct filter set up to Gopal on saturday when i visited Hope its done now, otherwise your electrical pump will conk off in no time.

They are damn feeble even at night. Seems like it has aged well!

Gopal has made the change. Not sure what you had recommended. and any reason (besides muck from the tank) for the pump to conk off in no time?

Only muck, old tanks will have rust and rust on a rubber diaphragm = give trouble at the most awkward situation.

For any filtration system where do you fit the filter?

Should be right after tank and before it goes to any other component, that is the simple logic.

The front ones have nothing inside them. Just the frame and bulb probably may not even have the filament - burnt or not.

Will see if I can "clean" the rear one's and put better bulbs in there. One has a red filter, one doesn't, so cock-eyed it is!

If the front has the glass and reflector intact, rest can be serviced. Rear ones clean, cut a small piece of any red tail light lens and use it as eye.

You guys created so much fuss about a Jeep fuel pump.

When it rains, it pours is what they say!

One Mr. Sajjad from Shivajinagar had taken my address while I was looking for a pump. Yesterday he knocks on my door holding a pump in his hand!

Let me know if anybody needs it or if you need his number.

The FP fitted on to mine looks bigger than this (or am I hallucinating?) Or possibly mine has the vacuum wiper provision at the bottom making it look bigger?

Wow Pavan, where did you find that? If you don't need it, I can relieve you of it.

Your restoration is coming up very well. Let us meet sometime when your jeep is back. I live in Vijayanagar - quite close to where you live(from your post)
