Spotted a Mdi 4x4 for the 1st time in my life. Barring the 6" NDMS, there is superb potential in this...

since the Thar MDi 4WD would be a farm work and OTR specific vehicle, i dont need AC or PS.

im happy the way it comes from the factory, in white colour!

Heard the Gurkha 4 wd is being relaunched "soon' with "premium features" for OTR.Unlike the Thar DI 4wd it might come with 'differential lockers' (or is it 'locking differentials') albeit at a higher price tag.How does it compare with the Thar DI 4wd?Is the engine earmarked for the Gurkha from the famed Daimler OM series and without fancy "electronics" like in the Thar CRDe .Any information will be appreciated.

Goel motors is in Mohali,forget about it,as one of our member's had a bad experience,and he had to return his Crde thar to them.
Get in touch with Raj Vehicles in Patiala,that's where i picked the scorpio from,they seem to have a good reputation in the region.

I don't get it. So many jeep gurus on the forum, and not one is able to suggest a workaround for the AC issue in the DI. Could it be done with some custom made clamps? What if the axle could be moved further down from the engine/chassis with a SPoA conversion or spacers?

Would it be possible to add an intercooler to the Turbo? What kind of an improvement would this make to the power delivery? Has anyone added an intercooler to the Bolero/Major?

@vivek:

Thar DI can be air-conditioned.

I can guide you with AC installation for Thar DI. I had AC & Power Steering on my MM540 with DI Turbo engine, same as on Thar DI. I have also helped air condition two Bolero Invaders with the same DI Turbo engine.

PM Me your number.

I came across a lot of Thar DIs when I visited Jaipur last month. Many belonged to the police department and a lot of them being used by the guys who take you up the forts. Not sure if they were 4wd though.
