The Thar you tested comes with alloys and those tyres, bull bar, fogs & horn from Mahindra? Or the dealers added those?

Mahindra gives us NOTHING . Every mod on that Jeep is aftermarket.

The showroom condition will look like this (Mahindra Thar MDi Thread (more pics at page 24)). More like a 550 badged THAR.

True. The Thar CRDe is manufactured at Nasik while the MDI at Mumbai. The Nasik plant has better production processes in place.

Yes it comes with a disc brake set up (with 226 mm effective diameter).

@Yikes, why do you doubt?

Hi Spike,

can you post the Gear Ratios of BA10 vs NGT520 vs NGT530.

I think the NGT520 has a lower First gear compared to the NGT530.

Regards,

Arka

^^ Which version of NGT530 are you talking about? There are 6 (5 new 1 old) versions of this gearbox. The first gear of old one (530) is different.

Hi Guys

I`ve noticed on the picture`s of the MDI Thar it is fitted with a solid front axle(SFA)?

Our CRDe Thar in SA has independent front suspension(IFS). Does your CRDe have IFS or SFA?

What is your likes and dislikes on this matter?

Hi Spike,

Actually I wanted information (Gear Ratios) for the NGT520.

I know of 3 Versions of the NGT530

Gears REV116 Scorpio CD Scorpio GD
1st -- 4.03:1 -- 3.78:1 -- 3.78:1
2nd -- 2.39:1 -- 2.24:1 -- 2.09:1
3rd -- 1.52:1 -- 1.43:1 -- 1.43:1
4th -- 1.00:1 -- 1.00:1 -- 1.00:1
5th -- 0.84:1 -- 0.79:1 -- 0.79:1
Rev -- 3.76:1 -- 3.52:1 -- 3.52:1

I think the NGT520, the 1st Gear is 4.12:1

Regards,

Arka

I am surprised you have not noticed. There are pages and pages of the CRDe and its suspension. Its available with IFS here too.

Again, likes and dislikes are a few more pages.

In India, the THAR CRDe comes with only IFS, and the MDi comes only with Solid front axle. Nothing is optional here.

And, yes, about likes and dislikes, there are tons of posts in the forum!.

Arka, ratios for NGT 520 are:- 3.78, 2.09, 1.38, 1, 0.79, 3.52 (R) respectively. Thar CRDe / DI also have the same ratios.

Spike

PS- Do you have details of gear teeths (main and counter shafts of REV116?)

Hi Spike,

I don't know that.

Please tell me more about the Main and Counter Shafts.

I guess the Counter Shaft for all the NGT530 will be have the same tooth count.

Regards,

Arka

Hmm, well almost, except for the 2nd and direct gears everything is same. Why did you think so? I am unable to get details of REV116 so I asked, thought that you may have something up your sleeve.
