If you dont have any hassles, there is no neccessity to mask number plates for your own vehicles and if you have persmission of some other owners vehicle, then for that as well, no problem.
It's simply for the reason that such things invades people's privacy ( though i reckon it means more for celebrities, but we aren't that are we??
