Indeed this is a positive outcome, software outsourcing has showed the way for outsourcing on a lot of other engineering domains such as civil, electrical and mechanical, Automobile engineering is just a step away. There plenty of talent (engineering or artistic ) awaiting opportunities that can be used.
However for Sr.VP, Patrick le Quément, as much as I loved the Aero look sierra's and the later scorpio etc, the Megane and twingo are actually quircky and luckily did not set a design trend unlike the Ford.
