Bangalore HAL:
Yetimeter:
This is supposed to be the airport of the new generation, the IT generation and the expats. Rather disappointing to say the least.
A poorly maintained airport, that wasn't even designed to be used for civilian transport, it belongs to HAL that make and repair planes for the IAF.
There are poor facilities and crazy queues for everything, right from check in to Xray machines. A very unpleasant experience from start to finish. Chaotic at best.
I believe Bangalore International will be ready in 2008, but it will be about 40 kms away from the city centre. I will review it when it's ready I guess.
The ONLY reason HAL gets 2 stars is because of the courteous manner in which the security address you and my 2 favourite places. CCD and Sankar's book shop. beyond this I have nothing nice to say about HAL.
